You are not getting the point Thrash. Tabacco isn't fronting any sin tax. You, the consumer, are. Same with alcohol. The only thing tabacco is paying for more of in the last decade is anti-tabacco advertising because they lost a lawsuit and were ordered to do so. They are paying no extra tax. Every time your cigarette price increases is because city, state or feds increased taxes on the buyer.So you're saying big tobacco is lobbying for higher taxes? Don't think so.
Their lobbyists are trying to prevent the higher taxes, as it means less business for them. Never said tobacco was paying the tax increases, said the people who are addicted are. That's not fair. That's government rape. That's usury on behalf of the government.
So in essense again... tabacco doesn't care because you are buying the product. Hence why they lobby... so they don't pay any extra and pass the burden on to the consumer.
