I vote yes because having it illegal has done nothing. People still buy and sell it, people still smoke it, people always will whether it's legal or not. If it's legal, you can grow it in mass quantities and sell it in convenience stores and other drug stores and tax the shit out of it like they do for cigarettes. I know, I know, people can still grow it in their backyard.... Yea, well, people can grow fucking tomatoes in their backyard, lets outlaw them.

I used to be very, very strongly against it. Now I'm like whatever. I didn't vote though. Honestly, it would make my life easier if it was legal (not that I'd use it but for other reasons).

I support legalizing weed just so we could enforce better control over it. When I was back in high school buying weed was very dangerous, because it was commonly sprayed with some heavier drug like heroine commonly, to create addiction. If there would be stores selling weed we'd know what we're buying. 

 

But to say there are worse things out there than weed which are legal, isn't a statement in support of weed in my books. It just says we need to enforce stronger restrictions on the legal painkillers or whatever some people use.

Alcohol can be fine in small amounts, you actually get quite a bit from a bag of grapes, apples, etc.

 

Where as Cyanide, marijuana etc. is always bad for you.

My support for legalizing it is on the foundation that people ought to be allowed to take it, but in a perfect world, wouldn't ever take it.

 

My opposition to legalizing it rests in the fact that it's not an okay thing to let people poison themselves and then say there's no side effects, when there clearly are.

 

 

People say legalization won't increase use, but I haven't seen any atom bombs or machine guns or hand grenades used in crimes recently, and the most commonly illegally used drugs, even with minors (who use the most drugs) are alcohol and Oxycontin, the two legal drugs. Look at cigarettes; what high do you get from that, why would so many people take it; the only rational is it's legal.

 

Making it illegal does decrease use, is it the best way to go about it?

 

 

Idk, but it's not okay imo to just say "sure, blow your brains out!" without any concern.

Well. It reduced tumor size temporarily, but in the long run made the cancer worse.

 

The report didn't say prevents cancer, it said shrank tumor size. But that would make sense, since marijuana prevents angiogenesis and lowers blood pressure, which would reduce blood flow and decrease the size of something growing. But when you inhale, your lungs expand, so that's a very stupid thing to try to pass off as a cure, per say. You can squeeze your hand really hard and the blood will build up, making your hand bigger; or, you can cut off blood flow, and it will shrink. But that isn't a cure or a solution. It could actually make things worse, since anemia is usually a huge problem with cancer patients. :/

 

 

That being said your article is specifically mentioning one expert so, idk if it's the same thing or not. xP

It's legalization is good as far as business goes. However I'd think even if there was laws to sorta regulate it, it wouldn't matter. Laws are broken all the time. Putting a law on how much you should use or age limit or whatever won't do a thing. I've seen kids younger than me when I used to go to school smoke a joint, or even a cig.

 

If it's good for any health problem then yeah I'm for that too. Just saying though, keeping it organized is gonna be hard considering some folks just don't care.

I really don't care one way or the other, but if I were president, I'd probably tell the DoJ to quit enforcing federal marijuana laws similar to how Obama instructed them to stop defending DOMA.

 

The fight against marijuana is expensive and not cost effective. The worst part of marijuana is not any health effects associated with it, but instead the violence and other crimes that are committed as part of the marijuana trade.

That "great juice" has caused more death, violence, dysfunction, social chaos, and medical harm than marijuana ever has. I'm just pointing out the double standards and illogical thinking that people who support cannabis prohibition on any of these grounds have if they do not likewise support prohibition of alcohol.

I would be. Tobacco too. People are too stupid on their own, we need a nanny state.
