I was a dictator that took the title "President." And yeah, I did like the way it sounded. Heh.
For a while I toyed with the idea of calling Invicta's leader the "Lord President." I thought it nicely combined the British and American aspects of our structures. I eventually discarded the idea. By then I had already taken the title Lord Protector, and I thought two similar-sounding titles (with the same initials no less) would be confusing.
Yea. Weird mang. I remember Nascar telling me about (or something) changing the Ministers names. Overhaul the gov positions to be more British. Keep the Lord Protector as the monarch, make it all good. Still could but eh.
Your crazy if you think we actually vote for our president, its done by some electoral fellows who we never see nor hear from.
And I'm sure senators and representatives are voted in by a small minority since nobody ever bothers to vote for them, most people I know only vote for the president, the one thing that their vote doesn't really count for.
Pretty much. People only care about the big races, so they changed the election process, and it kinda works, but not a direct vote, no. And I doubt we'll change it in our lifetimes.
Again, Republics don't have democracy in their blood. They have a senate and a president in their blood.
Senates are elected though. The President need not be by the people (and as we're talking, they're often not). But your vote goes towards someone who then votes on your behalf. Democracy is a part of a Republic. Just on the other end of the spectrum of a direct democracy.
