It stems from not liking anyone abusing the system. In order to be tax-exempt they're supposed to be apolitical, but instead they push their views. So, they need to suffer the consequences or stop doing it.

Rolly polly~

But yeah, there needs to be a crackdown on organised religion trying to be unfair and manipulative.

You all disagree with eachother. How the hell can any one of you claim to represent the will of the people? It's better off if an institution of none of you does everything.

I don't really care, I mean people have views on situations and will make decisions based on their beliefs.

I mean, should we start attacking atheists who's beliefs are influenced by their religious beliefs and say they need to pay more taxes or take away their influence in the government, not really.

That's just democracy.

Money doesn't win elections, as we've seen with Obama over Romney, so while it can help, it's not everything.

Inevitably everything has some role in politics so that's unavoidable.

What we should really do is start giving more tax breaks for organizations like the red Cross rather than removing them, that could help tremendously.

Obama spent more money than Romney. When you factor in Super PACs and other outside interest groups, much more money was spent, of course. But that's on both sides. In all, the Democrats and Republicans spent about the same amount of money. And it's a lot -- as much as $6 billion by some estimates when all is said and done.

Of course money wins elections.

Yeah, we kinda got to the "Nobody gives a fuck about it but Haf for reasons that defy any attempt at understanding" conclusion.

The church is a far better target too, because it's not controlled by the sweet old woman archetype character :3

Indeed we have, I was just pointing out your hypocrisy. If churches should pay taxes, then monarchs should too. :P

Especially those churches which are led by monarchs, which are the Anglican Church and the Roman Catholic Church to my knowledge.

The Queen IS the state. It would be like the government paying taxes to itself.

No churches are led by monarchs, with the exception of the Roman Catholic Church, and only then because the Pope is also the temporal ruler of Vatican City. Monarchs are leaders of states, not private entities.

Also, focus on the issues, such as the economy, money, people's healthcare etc. instead of trying to use your own perception of possibly getting to power to attack "those guys over there you don't like".

This is why I need to be president, because of everyone else's petty squabbling, not cause I'm super amazing or anything. :P

No one considers their squabbling petty.

Churches are private entities that own property, hire employees, etc. They should expect to pay taxes like any other entity. If they wish to file for tax exempt status as a charity, let them do so. The overwhelming majority would probably qualify. But let them earn it through their works, not their mystical beliefs.

Jorost's America would be a glorious place, like the way Krypton was portrayed in Superman comics, you know, before it blew up. If you play your cards right we might even all get heat vision.

Religious institutions can have exemptions, we're all about promoting freedom of religion here. ;)

Although you have yet to define any solutions or any capabilities; see, this is the kind of baseless promises my opponents and current politicians offer you.

Hope, chance, without any substance or care as to how, so they can hop on board and attack X people they think they aren't apart of (ironically THEIR religious beliefs being the basis for it, despite ironically them considering themselves to have none.)

Vote me, and my detailed plans for benefits to all with clear capabilities of being implemented and the logistical and functional changes will result in prosperity for all!

The Queen IS the state. It would be like the government paying taxes to itself.

This is the essential problem with monarchy: you establish a privileged group of people as a part of your nation's constitution.

No churches are led by monarchs, with the exception of the Roman Catholic Church, and only then because the Pope is also the temporal ruler of Vatican City. Monarchs are leaders of states, not private entities.

The Queen is the leader of the Church of England.

Ah, fair enough. But that role is more ceremonial. As to the Queen's privileges, she gives as lot in exchange for them. Very few of us would make that trade. You certainly wouldn't.

I would, though.

Haf, fucking shut up already.

We all know you're butt hurt you aren't a queen. But here's the deal. Life's not fair.

Now anyway, back to the point(s):

The pope can't pay taxes, he's the monarch of the Vatican City. His organization (church/fishing club/other), can. Because it's a multinational organization. And it's not even not for profit, really, more like a pyramid scheme.
Equally, the Queen can't pay taxes, she's the monarch of Britain. However her organization (church) should be able to.

If the Pope or the Queen's organization has to pay taxes but the Pope or the Queen doesn't, there's a very simple way to evade all income taxes legally.

The organization gives all of its profits to the Pope or the Queen who then administers the funds in a trust for the benefit of the organization. An organization that has no income pays no income taxes.

Yes, this is one of the reasons I think income taxes are a poor way to fund governments. But we rely on them now.

Dude, seriously, you have no grounds for this. It's paranoia and crackpot-ism. If such a thing would occur (which it wouldn't, because the Queen can't do that, you know, lack of any real power and what not), the gov would simply enforce the tax anyway, because someone could loop it around to saying that the assets of the person would be the assets of the organisation given their position is a seat of the organisation (etc), and they'd either pay taxes or stop being the Queen/Pope/other.

Anyway, point is, none of this would ever happen, because this shit is fucking bat shit crazy paranoid crap.

Also Also wik: The church isn't being taxed yet. Sucks.

Also, Manoka, Muffins are bloodthirsty?
