I was planning on taking my girl out of town for the weekend, getting a hotel in Fl, and going to Universal. But then I got scheduled to work even after I asked if I could have the weekend off. Then I planned on just taking her out on a date tonight after I get out of school but my dad wants me to take my car to the shop and get some work done to it. An ordeal that could take at least 3 or 4 hours including drive time and maintenance. So I'm looking at getting to my girlfriend's house at about 7 or 8 at night........ Happy Valentines day sweetheart!

That'd be fantastic, unfortunately, I don't think I can do that. But I've worked something out so we can still go on our date. I was asked to go into work today too. lol. I just told them no. lol.

This is what happened on my valentines day. I came into class late because our band director yelled at us and kicked us out of Jazz band rehearsal because he lost it for no real reason. Then when I came into class I was still in shock. Everyone starting saying happy valentines day to me but I thought the were saying something else so I said "err hello". I then sat down and then my to friends walk in but they actually responded back happy valentines day. Then the girl next to me turned to me and jokingly said I was an asshole. I was still in shock so I said "um sorry I'm just in shock right now because I was screamed at by Mr. N." The rest of the day continued when a girl thought I asked her to be my valentine and gave me an odd look and I took a ridiculously hard BC Calc test.

Valentine's Day is just a made-up corporate holiday designed to sell candy and cards.  But on the bright side, there were lots of treats to be had around the school today.

a) I so voted for not celebrating valetines this morning and ended up going out with someone really hot

 

b) I still can't picture Jorost working in a school. I'm not sure if I'm open minded enought to let my kids around him

The sad thing is, it actually has a really interesting and long history as a religious holiday. It's just been commercialized so much that it appears to be a corporate sham to many people today. If there's any defining reason to oppose the commercialization of Christmas, it's the complete and absolute adulteration of Valentine's Day.

While I agree with you, I wouldn't dare try to pull that card on a girl. lol. It's kinda like what I heard on the radio today, "You don't HAVE to do anything. (but if you don't, there will be hell to pay)" Plus, if I wanna get lucky, I gotta make her happy. lol. 

 

Anyways, So, we are heading back to my girlfriend's house after our date tonight, we just got out of a small city where the speed limit is 35, raises to 45, then finally 55 once you get out of the city. We are just chatting cruising down the road. I look up in my rear view and notice someone behind me. Closer observation reveals it's a cop. I check my speed. I'm going about 50. I ask my girlfriend, "what's the speed limit?" She said 45. I slow down a bit. Then I realize, wait a minute, no, the speed limit is 55 here, I speed back up to 50. My turn is coming up but there's a car beside me so I can't get over, I slow down to let the car pass so I can get over. I'm just about to change lanes when the cop's lights turn on......

He said the reason he pulled me over is cause I was going too slow in the right lane. He said if there are people behind me going faster, I need to get over, and I agree. lol. He also asked if I've had anything to drink and I told him no. He let me go with a warning.

From what it sounds like, he probably just thought I was drunk and wanted to pull me over to check me out. I mean, I was going slow, my speed was varying, and I might have been weaving a little. Sounds like a drunk to me. lol. I guess he was doing the right thing. But it freaked my girlfriend out. lol. She was really stressed out for no reason. lol.

I've dated a few. The real truth of the matter is that nearly all people of both genders love Valentine's Day. But I tend to date, well, freaks. B)

I don't love Valentines day, but I do love my girl and I wanna make her happy. Also, I had fun. But my butt is bruised from falling when we were skating. lol.

I dispute your claim that people of both genders love Valentine's Day.  I can't think of many heterosexual men I know who actively like it; it would be more accurate to say they are used to it, and, if they are particularly good, know how to employ it to their advantage within the relationship.

As for me, I don't have any particular dislike for Valentine's Day, at least not any more than for any other commercialized holiday.  If I had a woman in my life (or a man; or a sheep) then perhaps I would like it.  I'm a bit of a softie so I probably would.
