She is 6 years old. She is an indoor cat 100% of the time. For the last 5 days, she has stopped covering her piss in the cat box and I have to scoop it out every fucking evening because it stinks so bad. She covers her shit every time though.

I have been using the same litter all of her life so that cant be the problem.  What do I do besides kicking her ass outside to the coyotes and cougars? lol

It is possible there is another cat in the neighborhood that is pissing near your house that she can smell.  If that is the case, she may be not covering it up, cause she wants her scent to be known to the other cat.  Male or female, it wouldn't much matter, cats are territorial. 

 

I'd start keeping an eye out for a stray in the area.

I dunno, maybe wants you to see it for some reason. Do you use clumping litter, the piss blobs shouldn't smell then. I'm down to 3 now from an all-time high of 7. They're dropping like flies now, all are above 10yrs old. Can't wait till they're all gone.

Try to get some new odor neutralizer, or anti-bacterial stuff, so that way the bacteria won't grow or something. Herm. Maybe cover all the kitty litter in some kind of disinfectant but that like, isn't toxic or something. That way it won't grow in there, in the first place. Maybe put it outside, but put like a little cage so, the cat doesn't get out, or something. And install a little cat door. xP

I wish I could have a cat. My building allows dogs, but not cats. And while I like dogs okay, they're too needy. All those walks and picking up poop, etc. Ugh.

Cats are the fucking anti-christ. As needy as dogs are, at least they give a shit about you. Most cats have that self righteous aura about them and only come to you when they need something. Dogs are more steady and can give you protection from intruders. What do cats do? Catch a mouse if you are lucky. More often than not (and especially when they get older) cats tend to piss everywhere and leave a scent that is damn near impossible to get off carpet/furniture. Seriously fuck cats.

Throw baking soda on that shit, febreeze always seems to make the litter box weird. Baking soda works well and maybe will inspire the cat to mix it into the litter and cover its piss.

 

 

On another note, why can you buy a 30 dollar toy for a cat and it never touches it... but wil play with a ball of scrap paper for hours and days?
