Yeah, Haf really likes The Hunger. I like it a lot too, but greatest vampire movie of all time? Ehh? I'd have to think about that. I might be tempted to say Near Dark. Or, just to annoy Haf, Interview With the Vampire with Sir Tom Cruise.
There are only seven good vampire movies. You name two of the other five. (The others are Vampires by John Carpenter, Lost Boys, the original Nosferatu and Dracula featuring Bela Lugosi.)
I really love Near Dark. If it wasn't for its horrible ending, I would rate it ahead of The Hunger. Then again, if it wasn't for the not-as-bad-as-Near-Dark-but-still-bad ending of Dracula, I might rate it ahead of The Hunger too.
But more importantly, The Hunger is a subculture movie, that is, a movie which spawned a subculture. That puts it in the same category as V for Vendetta.
The only Tom Cruise movies I've seen are Interview with the Vampire and Legend. It's kinda fun to watch them back to back actually, especially if you watch Legend first because then Lestat reminds you of Jack. He's not the best actor in either, that would be Brad Pitt and the redoubtable Tim Curry, respectively. Still, I like them both, so he can't be all bad.
