Shout out to whomever made these forums (jorost I guess?) These are honestly the best forums I have ever seen to date, they are so appealing to the eyes and easy to use. Like a warm fuzzy feeling on the inside.

I know it can be something that doesn't really get noticed so I just want to express my appreciation for these wonderful forums.


But I also have something else on my mind....


Sometimes I lay awake at night....pondering in my head over and over and over again for many sleepless hours...asking myself this one...simple question...."Why isn't Invictas flag...Red??"

Yes that's right, Why isn't it red???

I mean our team colour is red, I was told to switch to the red team when I joined. Even jorost himself is a senator of the Red team.

The forums are red! Red and black and they look lovely!

But...the flag! A black horse over a PURPLE background when everything else is RED.

There is only one conclusion that comes to mind... This must be a mystery!
This MUST be a clue of some sorts! And I'm going to figure it out!

So slim is on the case!





Seriously though I have mad respect to whomever made these forums, how did you do it! They are great and I just wanted to let you know.

So okay Invicta was formed on purple, I guess the flag is the only remainder of that?

Anyone care to tell the story of how Invicta got onto the red team?

Haha. Well, I didn't actually design the forums, although I think I chose the skin. As to the question of the flag and why it's not red:

 

Invicta was originally a Purple alliance. After I moved us to the Red sphere, I decided to keep our purple flag, however, because by then it had history and tradition behind it. Besides, where is it written that your color scheme must match the color of your trading sphere? NPO's flag isn't red, for example. Purple, white, and black is Invicta's red, white, and blue. (Besides, Invicta's flag looks really Naziesque in red.)

 

FYI, I have my view of the forums set to default to purple as the primary color (hex code #800080, if anyone cares), so to me it looks like this:

 

 

I once asked this to be made the default color scheme, with the red as an alternate, but no one ever listened to me...

Also NPO was our closest ally at the time, so it made sense for us to be in the same trading sphere. But mostly it was because my leadership style involves making a lot of arbitrary, sweeping decisions without warning or forethought — basically a series of near-random events strung together by delusion.

You can change the color of the forums. Click the color wheel at the top left corner. You can choose a new color there. The purple is #800080.

Yeah, you get used to however you have it set. I've had it on purple since day one, so to me it looks weird (and jarring) to see it in red.

These are our original Invisionfree forums. These are the forums set up when Dawny and DoubleU formed Invicta.

 

We later moved to the Zetaboard forums when I took over and "rebranded." I think I was such a pompous douchebag that I actually called it Invicta 2.0. Heh. Anyway, a lot of our current iconography and imagery comes from that time.

 

I am proud to say that I am in large part responsible for Invicta's look and feel. The iconic horse and shield was designed by one of our most legendary members, Synagence of Spoontonia, at my behest. I love it. We make purple prancing horses look badass.

I remember the zetaboard forums. They had too much purple. It was hard to get used to and since I was just a diploma I never did. Also I was probably IAA 2 at the time so I was used to being on my still favorite forums.

The artwork and stuff from that time is great.
