Can we stop for a second and talk about how badass the flash is? I've just recently come to realize that he's like, the most broken superhero ever. Before this, I always thought the flash was like the lamest superhero ever.

Infinite mass punch - Introduced in Grant Morrison's JLA title. Flash (Wally West), traveling near the speed of light acquired the relativistic mass of such speed to impart blows which could hit with the force of "a white dwarf star," enabling him to knock down such powerful foes as the White Martians with a single punch. Flash's own durability is regulated by the Speed Force in such cases.

If I remember correctly, he might be able to go through things, and then choose whether or not they blow up afterwards.

eh. I'm still not really sold. I don't understand the limits, how he compares to other superheros (Superman anyone), or what Flash we're talking about (everyone loves to write alternate history, or universe comics or worlds, or Flashes, I have no idea).

 

Flash seems lame, and when he's in the Justice League on TV (when I watched it) and just *looks* fast, but keeping pace with Superman, the green guy, the other green guy, hawk girl, wonder women, and whoever else. He just seems lame.

 

Batman is best superhero.

Nuh uh, Green Arrow is best superhero. He's like batman, but with arrows. Of every use imaginable. Smokescreen arrow? Check. Kryptonite Arrow? check. Arrow that can chase down and stop Flash? Check. Auto computer hacker arrow? Check. etc.

But Superman bends spacetime, as does the flash, so it's actually not that much energy.

Yeah, one of the problems with DC is that they tend to make their characters way too powerful.  At that level of speed the Flash should be a god.  Marvel's main fast character, by contrast, is Quicksilver, whose normal "cruising" speed is around 175mph, with reflexes and coordination to match.  Even that relatively low rate of speed (at least compared to the Flash, who can run "faster than time," whatever that means) Quicksilver should still be all but invincible.  Think about how fast 175mph is in close quarters.  You could incapacitate a dozen men before any of them even had time to twitch, much less react.  Nobody really explores the full implications of fast characters very effectively.

I've also heard he can move so fast he can literally vibrate through an object without disturbing the object. IDK about choosing whether or not they blow up... that part seems dumb. lol.

yea, my cousin was telling me about this comic he saw of the flash hitting superman with infinite infinite mass punches and taking him down, then batman just trips him. lol.

Traditionally the Flash can pass through solid objects (or let solid objects pass through him) by vibrating at high rates of speed.  Another thing that makes him all but impossible to defeat.  Realistically every issue of his comic book should just be two panels long, one set up the problem ("Oh no!  Someone's robbing the bank!") and another in which everyone is smiling and saying, "Wow, thanks for saving the day, Flash!."  Everything else happens too fast to depict.

 

This is what I mean when I say DC heroes are too powerful.  Well, except for Aquaman, who can talk to fish.

But at the end of this the flash just disappears.

 

He doesn't go that fast cause he would die .

 

 

Which explains him going slower. He's also afraid he'd go so fast that he'd never stop; he ages really quickly during these times, so if it feels like 3 years for him, it's actually been 3 years.

 

Technically, when you're traveling the speed of light, you should age slower ,but since it's space time bending, and not him actually traveling faster, there rules are different.

 

 

It also explains why he can travel so fast and the ground doesn't just explode beneath his feet or he doesn't just flatten out due to air resistance.

 

And how he travels faster than light.

Except that he isn't as smart and doesn't have the same cool factor.

Green Arrow was cool because his stories tended to deal with grittier, more real-life stuff than other superhero comics of the time.  This is one of the most famous, drawn by Neal Adams:

I loved the Flash when I was a kid because I was fast (though naturally fast, not insane like him) and he pointed out that given enough speed you can literally solve all the world's problems.

Lol. I liked the OP superheroes when they were the only superhero on the block. A world where superman is the only superhero, or the flash is the only superhero, etc.

Yea, my cousin actually posted a facebook status that pretty much says the same thing.
 

I would like them to make a movie about the Flash,
but it would be about an attosecond long.
Not really worth the price of a movie ticket.

When it's impossible to compare superheros because they both come off as invincible, it's not really fun. And ignore Batman in my example. Just take any two superheros. It's power creep, and you have no grounding for what's "believable"

I'm not really sure what you meant. But batman wins. 1, cause he's batman. 2, cause he always has kryptonite on him. Always. And he actually knows how to fight so when superman is drained of all his powers, there's nothing he can do to the batman.
