I'm so upset about this election that I spent actual, real money today shorting the market.  I have severe cognitive dissonance today.  Intellectually and statistically I have confidence in one outcome, but emotionally I have a raw, existential fear of the other.

Early hours still, of course, but the results coming in so far show Trump leading popular vote, but Clinton leading projected electors. Oh the carnage that will ensue if this persists and Clinton pulls a 2000 and wins by a hanging chad.

Edit: Also, best vote.

Edit № 2: I take that back.

ALL HAIL CLIN-TON

ALL HAIL CLIN-TON

etc.

Basically I think she has it. This is totally not hope and has nothing to do with me having to yell "I told you he'd play his trump card" off the roof of the building I live in if Trump wins.

I want video.

CBC–Radio Canada has reporters at the rally‑cum‑protest outside the White House. Suddenly one of the people in the frame noticed the camera and shouted, 'Hey look, we're on Canada!'—at which point the crowd burst into a spontaneous chorus of O Canada. I'm at once proud, confused, and afraid.

I've gone back and forth a lot on who I think will win. I'm solidly believing Trump will win now and that's what I want. Many have said it will all come down to Pennsylvania. If trump wins PA, he's got it in the bag. In my area, it's solidly Trump. I'd imagine the same is true of all of rural PA (of which there is A lot). It's obvious he will get 0 votes in Philly, but the enthusiasm for him is strong and that bodes well for him. PA is a big state, Philly is just a slice of it.

He needs more than just PA. He needs to sweep PA, OH, FL, and NC. I just don't see that happening.

Burn.

He has more support then the polls show. Like I've stated in another thread, people won't openly admit they are supporting him because they will get berated or get beaten. Do not trust the polls. The Clinton campaign surely isn't, "why aren't I 50 points ahead" (lol, cuz the commercial just came on, go figure). Clinton camp is shaking in their boots, as they should be. The Dems lost this election when the truth came out about the rigging against Bernie. He really did wanna give the free shit to people. She just wants to promise it. They're mad as hell and won't be turning out to vote.

And I have seen this consistantly amd asked for those to show proof. The answer I get is media bias. When Trump loses, it will be a rigged election. This makes no sense. The site I linked uses both Conservative and Liberal sites. Again I ask you show your mystical poll numbers. Other than Trump telling you this is the case.

Burn.

The Dems could have absolutely stopped it. They could've behaved like normal human beings and not mocked everyone who disagreed with them, not been big fucking babies because someone said mean things, not paid people to incite violence, not resorted to violence when they didn't get their way. The Dems have no one to blame but themselves. Thinking you are better then everyone else and lying and saying you support the people you are getting rich off will bite you in the ass eventually. Today, that day has come.

This is a vote for Law and Order and an end of PC. The Dems pushed it way too far, people got sick and tired FINALLY.

There was a lady at work tonight who after finding out that he won was actually angry and afraid yelling that "he's gonna lynch us!". Are you fucking serious? This is why you lost. If you opened up your mind and looked at issues instead of the bullshit that the left fed you, you'd realize that is insane and you wouldn't be so upset.

We could very well have had a PC guy break the system. But as I said, Bernie Sanders was never going to get that nomination. Not in a million years. Social progression isn't the cause of evil in your country, self interest of the political class is.

And, no, you're wrong about people not being scared if they weren't brainwashed. I don't think you fully understand how absolutely terrifying this situation is to people who did not ask for it. They have not stepped into a new world, they've been tossed kicking and screaming. That's scary as hell.

"VOTING DOESN'T MATTER"

How many states were actually swing states this time? Just think about how crazy that is.

Voting matters.

I heard someone say Minnesota is too blue, it'll never go red. No one owns a state. A party. All the polling. Politics. It's all made up bullshit. Even with people fear mongering, and so much ignorance. Somewhere, deep down, certain goodness keeps things going. People believe in something. And civilization continues on somehow. And that society we all make up; they lead us to this point, and they counted the votes. Many thousands, perhaps millions, of people put in the effort, and if they wanted the result or not; we have Trump as President.

Voting matters. You shouldn't be ignorant. Maryland wasn't at play, so I always knew that "my vote didn't matter". But I still went to vote. If I wanted Hillary or Trump. I told myself I was going to vote trump as my protest vote. But I choked.

For weeks, months I promised myself I would vote Trump, esp since it doesn't matter. Best case they make a note about a smaller margin of victory in Maryland. But the last 2 days I wavered. And then when I got my ballet and stood at the little table (we did paper ballets this year in maryland. First time I've done so). I couldn't decide. I voted for president last because I was so unsure.

I choked because I honestly didn't want Trump as President. And even if "my vote didn't matter", and I knew how Maryland would vote, and this and that. I don't want to cast my vote for someone who I don't want leading my country. Even if I know I must be pragmatic. I have been (or maybe contrarian but alas).

I voted for Garry Johnson, even though I hate the man (now. I wasn't crazy about him in 2012 when I voted for him before, and have only soured on him now), but I knew it was a throwaway protest vote.

Same deal as the Trump vote in theory I suppose. But I felt better about it. And even without getting 5% (which I didn't think would happen, but that's a nice goal). Getting as many votes as he did, actually shows something.

My story didn't have a point. I just, so strongly believe voting matters. And, this crowd that will read this, will either be jaded, pragmatic; y'all already know (well most of you) how politics works and are informed (again most of you*), but still.

FUCK THE ESTABLISHMENT.

I'm lowkey scared, but people should just chill. Christ.

You should've lost the faith when the DNC fucked over Bernie. That was your own party screwing you. Yet you still stuck with them. Hell, even Bernie stuck with them. Many other Dems woke up after that and either didn't vote or switched to Trump, that's part of what gave him the win. There were exactly 3 Trump supporters on my shift (1 was me). The other 2 told me they would've voted for Bernie. If you hadn't voted at all, you wouldn't be as upset. You can't have expected her to possibly be able to win. She is evil incarnate. I wonder if the fireworks company is going to return her money. :)
