It wont be paid for in the traditional sense (i.e. Mexico cuts a check to Bob's Fences.) It will be paid for with ROI (Return On Investment). We will have to front tax money to make it happen, but in a short time it will pay itself off. This requires strict adherence to the plan and sticking with it which only Trump can provide since he can't be bought. Everyone seems to forget that these illegals leech the system dry. We're currently doling out billions to school, feed, house, protect these people who do not want to contribute to our society in the least. Instead of cutting them a check for food that month, you give that money to law enforcement to get them the fuck out of here. That's a wash for that day. The next month, they are gone, no check needs to be cut to support them, nor to deport them. Win.
With this done, the tax coffers keep growing (without raising rates). Now, you have a surplus. Take that surplus, build a fence so the problem doesn't present itself again. Everyone is happy. No one had to pay more. Legal citizens have a better quality of life. After a few years of the fence, you can stop budgeting to pay for illegals. Tax cut. Everyone is ecstatic.
End Result: Mexico and all the other countries who have illegals coming here have paid for the wall.
Congrats! you have fallen for the biggest bag of goods in political history. Mexico is building no such wall. Why would they? To placate us? To keep cartel violence in? Why would Mexico agree to foot the bill for a project they have no interest in and millions of dollars they cannot afford? Bill of goods man. Bill of goods.
On top of that, Trump's delusional plan calls for all illegals to be rounded up and sent home (i.e tax dollars). Putting aside the increase in quanity and volume of the over militarization of police force (not to mention deputizing untrained individuals to carry out this task... WHAT COULD GO WRONG). I am pretty sure that every American citizen, especially those of Hispanic decent, will be thrilled and excited to lay down their 4th amendment right while this police force comes into their home for inspections and removes any unwanted citizens. We talk about rights here in this country only when they benefit us.
Thirdly, even if you can get legislation passed (not likely) by Congress (good luck trying to get this pushed by Executive Order and not get an Impeachment vote thrown at you) you also fail to see what this will do to the economy. You talk about how illegals are a drain on society yet you probably have no contact with any. I do. I have worked with illegals in a previous job. They all had families who were legal citizens (spouses/children). You would be incredibly surprised how many actually pay taxes (every one I worked with because my boss, the owner, kept tabs) and got NOTHING out of it. No health care. No tax breaks. No social security benefits for themselves. This does not include what a lot of illegals who have no "anchor chilrden/wives" endure or put up with having the absolute shittiest jobs in the world. Ever have a job picking fruit? How about being a house servant? Gardener? Any of those sound appealing? How about the fact that if you got beaten out by an illegal it means you work unskilled labor. Congrats your job is insignificant and completely replaceable by an illegal. SHould I feel sympathy for you?
Also see the following: so to become of this country. One must apply for a visa, have it granted (easier said than done) show good residency, and/or worked a skilled profession and then just maybe you will be granted citizenship... after 13 years on average. Don't fail one of those above steps or lose your visa for ANY reason whatsoever or start over. Seems like an awful lot to jump through to be here legally. Or we could just grant citizenship for anyone serving in the armed forces for 4 years like the Romans did or any other fucking logical path.
Also I forgot to add, even if you magically passed this through Congress and it was not shut down by any court, How do you expect to pay for it? Tax increase is a no-no. A vast majority of the GOP/Conservatives are still fellating Grover Nordquist and his pact. Want to get reelected? Don't pass taxes. Want to commit political suicide in the GOP? Raise taxes
