What it is going to do is embolden anti-female reactionaries by providing them with a high-profile bogeyman (or bogeywoman, in this case) to point at, which would almost assuredly damage the perception of women in politics.

Fixed that for you, and you would deserve it for your shortsightedness.

True, but you know what? I accept that risk.

Redezra is secretly a Poe personality created to undermine the credibility of the positions she takes. It all makes sense now. Very subtle. Very well done.

I still like that you can put an airplane at the left end of the arrow and it becomes a 9/11 reference. Like, it took the Internet whole minutes to come up with that one and some team got paid big bucks to make it and somehow miss this obvious flaw. :v

You said that the other day.

But how serious are you? I understand a protest vote. And I would've voted for Ron Paul last election myself if he was running at all.

But if he's not, and you're not trying to help get the Libertarian (or Green, or whoever) exposure/the ability for public funds, or whatever else; why are you doing it?

Ron Paul is a pretty vile human being. He's just fooled certain people into thinking he's a breath of fresh air. He's not. He's a piece of shit, who raised a piece of shit son. Here's a sampling of some of his more choice statements:

"Given the inefficiencies of what DC laughingly calls the criminal justice system, I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal."

"We are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, it is hardly irrational."

"Order was only restored in L.A. when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks." (After the LA riots.)

Referred to Martin Luther King Jr. as "the world-class philanderer who beat up his paramours" and who "seduced underage girls and boys."

Referred to Barbara Jordan, a civil rights activist and congresswoman as "Barbara Morondon," the "archetypical half-educated victimologist."

Not true. He has some solid economical policies but that does not excuse his outright half-veiled racism. Yes his secretary published that newsletter......

I thought the newsletter controversy was interesting, but I thought a conclusion was come about already? That he was responsible but not the author of these statements. He opposed the ideas behind the statements and the NAACP head even stepped in defending Dr. Paul at some point.

However, until I actually decide on who is worthy of voting for, I will vote for Ron Paul :P

There is a lot of people I wouldnt vote for right now and I didnt want to talk smack against anyone until it was closer to the wire.

Welp, he raised a pretty racist son. That came from somewhere.

Bottom line: He's not a nice guy. And he'd be a terrible, regressive, destructive president. But he wears the "libertarian" label and he was against the war (all of them), so he fooled a lot of hippies. But he's out of it now, just singing backup for his son Rand, a sellout to the Koch brothers. But that's a separate rant.

Interesting how many people's most similar candidate is Bernie Sanders. His ideas are a lot more mainstream than the "mainstream" media would have people believe. I met him the other day (briefly, shook his hand) after hearing him speak. He's very good. Like a teacher everyone really likes. And he can attack Hillary Clinton without it being sexist because he is an old guy. Like I said in another thread, the debates are gonna be fun to watch!

I am kind of sad he is "singing" for Rand... but then again, what else is he supposed to do? They have their major differences, and I wont defend rand... but Ron is not a racist :P

As for Sanders, he is coming on to my radar. He has a lot of interesting things to say.

Understand that Bernie Sanders' positions and Ron Paul's would be 100% opposite on most things. They would agree on staying out of foreign wars, the right to keep and bear arms, and little else. I found Bernie very appealing, and I can't wait for the debates, when he can put some uncomfortable questions to Hillary Clinton. But a small part of me is starting to think this could be a real life political insurgency. 10,000 people at his rally in Madison, Wisconsin. Granted, Madison is naturally Bernie-friendly country, but still that turnout is much higher than any other candidate yet this cycle. I took my Little Brother to meet him and shake his hand, just in case. ;)

Overhauling/eliminating foreign aid (especially to countries whom are not our real allies like Israel, Egypt and Pakistan), freezing Defense spending and getting out of all conflicts is a fantastic start. Now some of the entitlements he wants to eliminate are a little extreme and would never see the light of day but those three things as well as ending the drug war could save this country about 500 billion a year. That is a lot of money and it could either be reinvested into things like Infrastructure or used to pay down some of our debt like the Iraq and Afghanistan wars

As good as some of their economic policies are, there is no way I could bring myself to vote for anyone in the Paul family. It will likely end up being Sanders on just the campaign reform topic that gets my vote. Not one other candidate excites me.
