So here's the deal can't play football anymore, Wanna play some kind of sport again, my local club is pretty much desperate for players, Im a 6'2 230 pound lineman 16 years old.

Is it normal for kids my age to begin playing???

Well, not usually, but then most kids don't switch sports, at least not here. It sounds like you'd be good at it, so as long as you can learn the rules and stuff, go for it :awesome:

Not sure where you are from, but over here in Scotland we start playing rugby in school from about 10-11 right through high school so starting at 16 isn't uncommon. As for your size you should be big enough. :awesome:

Which kind of football can't you play anymore? Also why can't you play?

Rugby does have a high incidence of injury, but yeah, starting at 16 is not a big deal.

Ah yes.

Keep in mind that part of the reason why rugby has less practice is because if rugby players had practice 6 days a week, they'd never get to play because they'd all be on stretchers. However assuming you think you're tough enough go ahead and find out if you are. :awesome:

Rugby does not have fixed positions the way American football does. You do have linebackers and forwards, but it's much more fluid, thanks to the no stopping and no armour nature of the game.

The stars in rugby are generally the really fast players, of course. That's how you score in rugby.

I know someone (not too well) who I think played rugby in high school. I must say it is a different sport than football. But what is life without challenges?
