[Somacracy]

This song is especially interesting. The entire thing was done in one take by the musicians. Most of them did not know the song previously. The songwriter/singer/guitarist Jason Molina gave them the chords/lyrics right beforehand and they completely nailed it. When he repeats "Listen" near the end of the song he is actually dictating when they should cut out.

This song is based on the surrealist movie "Un Chien Andalou" by Salvador Dali and Luis Buñuel. Pixies frontman Black Francis was often inspired by surrealism and loved to incorporate it into his music/lyrics.

Nothing particularly noteworthy (that I know of) about this song. Apples in Stereo are an amazing band and New Magnetic Wonder is a pure masterpiece of an album.

Song Against Sex - Neutral Milk Hotel

Another song from the Elephant 6 Collective (loose music collective that included the previously posted Apples in Stereo).  "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" is by far NMH's most well-known album and has achieved a sort of cult status over the years. However, their first official album "On Avery Island" is nothing to be overlooked. Song Against Sex is the first song off the album and one of my favorite individual songs by Neutral Milk Hotel. Enjoy.

...speaking of Kurt Cobain, have some Nirvana. I decided to re-listen to Nevermind yesterday and I forgot how good it was. This song has got a groovin' bassline.
