As the more astute among you will no doubt have noticed, this site has been down for a couple of days. This is because the registration for the domain name "cn-invicta.com" expired, and through a perfect storm of errors and bad luck could not be renewed. Here's what happened:
The domain name was registered way back in the dawn of time, and no one could remember the password to log in. We could not retrieve the password because we did not know 1) our customer number, and 2) the PIN number set up for just such an emergency. We could have a recovery password sent to the email address we gave, except that the email address we gave was webmaster@cn-invicta.com. You know, the site we can't access? So yeah, basically a Möbius strip of fuckuppery.
After several lengthy and exasperating telephone calls to customer service, the bottom line was that the best they could do was have me fill out a legal form requesting control be handed back over to me, the legal owner, and included me providing a scan of my driver's license. Since, like most normal people, I didn't happen to have a scan of my driver's license handy when all this finally became clear last night. And today I found out that Staples will not copy identifications. Ha ha, everybody laugh.
I ended up going into the school, digging out my old scanner, and hooking it up just to get the damn image. All the paperwork has now been submitted. I am advised that it takes about three days. And I assume that means three business days.
All this, when all I was trying to do was GIVE THEM MONEY.
As Nas can attest, I was in a murderous rage. But it's all over now. All over...
Anyway, expect the regular domain to be back up next week.
