Piers Morgan is a shitlord tbh.

I love how he's doing that blank thing with my generation again.

To his point tho, yes, people need to quit being bitches about Trump winning.

It happened.

The Electors aren't gonna change their vote in December.

What Progressives as a whole need to do, not just the 18-36 crowd, but the left AS A WHOLE, is build a genuine opposition.

Crying won't prevent shitty policy.

Fucking knuckling up and working hard will.

Restating tho: Piers Morgan is a shitlord.

Fuck him sideways.

Piers Morgan is still relevant? lol

I agree that everyone needs to stop bitching about Trump, get over it, at this point you are making yourself look dumb.  If somehow these protests actually did influence the electors to change their votes, that would probably start a civil war lol.  Aside from Banon, I'm actually encouraged about his possible picks for his cabinet.

I sort of have this feeling that they won't though.  I fear that the democratic party will go more left contrary to what they actually should do.  They need to broaden their appeal and not just rely on their base.  They relied on their base this election and they lost.

The problem for them is their base is shrinking. Let's not forget Sanders is an Independent.

I'm pretty sure its the opposite.  The percentage of white voters (republican base) in this country is decreasing every year.

He's changed teams.

He's actually working to broaden the Left's base, considering Hillary is too butthurt to actually try to do anything now that she's lost.

Case and point:

Piers Morgan is a shitlord tbh.

When Piers Moron, as he more commonly known here in the UK, got his job on CNN the nation rejoiced as we thought we'd seen the back of him. As  a journalist he's a trail of shit behind him including using his position for dodgy share dealing, faking a front page story about British troops abusing Iraqi prisoners,

_40104963_point_pa_203.jpg

as well as not only being involved in a phone havking scandal but boasting about it too, and has a collection of complaints against him.

Here's his apperance  on a popular chat show many years ago:

And Jeremy Clarkson increased his popularity by punching him.

In short he's much much more than a shitlord. He's the epitome of lazy and corrupt hacks working for the gutter press and a cunt.

The UK agrees to take all those "celebrities" who said they would leave, if the US agrees to confiscate and lose his passport.

Everyone gets upset when their side loses. Trump supporters were ready to take up arms if Clinton won.

That's what "some" said they would do. I can tell you what's not happening right now, Trump supporters out causing vandalism and property damage.

Not really sure what arrests and vandalism you're talking about. But even if it did happen somewhere, well, I'll quote someone I think you'll recognize...

"some"

How come when it's Trump supporters only "some" are violent extremists, but when it's the other side they are all painted with the same brush? You accuse progressives of living in a bubble, of being out of touch, etc., but you're doing exactly the same thing. We have all been living in our bubbles for far too long.

To be fair its more pointing out of the irony.

The violent protests excreta thats happening was predicted by the very camp which called half the voters degenerates who would be kicking off when Clinton definitely wins.

It just so happens to be coming from the Clinton camp rather than the Trump camp.

Deplorables, not degenerates. But even the focus on that comment strikes me as more "bubble-think." After all the nasty things that Donald Trump said on the campaign trail it comes off as extremely hypocritical to focus on Clinton's "deplorables" comment so much. First of all, it was a pretty soft put-down, if you can even call it that. "Basket of deplorables?" Ooh. Burn. But more to the point, why is it okay for Donald Trump to lob insults but not Hillary Clinton?

I'm not trying to defend the "deplorables" comment; in fact it was a pretty stupid thing for a presidential candidate to say. But the double standard smacks of exactly the kind of identity politics that has gotten us where we are today.

These protests are happening because people are legitimately scared. If it had gone the other way, and Trump's supporters were out there protesting, maybe their feelings would be legitimate too. If we're so far gone that we can't even agree on that, then this country is doomed.

No more bubbles.

Deplorable, degenerate... Pretty much the same if not similar meaning.

You have some double standards, when one side claims to take the morale high ground then it is held to a higher regard and held to account when it then does and say the very same things its meant to be better than.

These protests are happening because people are legitimately scared. If it had gone the other way, and Trump's supporters were out there protesting, maybe their feelings would be legitimate too. If we're so far gone that we can't even agree on that, then this country is doomed.

Scared of what? The propaganda has been so good that the people end up believing their own material.

The difference between Trump and Clinton, whichever got the office is that Clinton would of had the support needed to do things.... Trump on the other hand had right up to election had a massive Republican party revolt on his hands...

Explain what damage a president can do when the opposition and government is against him?

He has to tone things down to appease his party to be able to pass stuff through congress.

Some liberals think he will be Hitler incarnate and assume total power of the government and be able to do what he wants and that my friend is what some of these protesters have bought into... A delusion.

I feel like you're still fighting the election. Look, whether I like it or not, Donald Trump is going to be president. And he won the election by appealing to a lot of the uglier elements in American society. No, not all of his voters are "deplorables" (again, a poor choice of words but it has taken on an accepted meaning in this conversation, so we'll go with it). In fact most probably were not. But a segment — and a fairly sizable segment — were motivated by what can only be described as white nationalism. Or at the very least white identity politics. Breitbart, the alt-right, etc. Those are scary people with scary ideas. Especially if you're non-white, non-heterosexual, and non-male.

Now, Donald Trump has disavowed these people, and that's good. But he hasn't done so with the same kind of vehemence with which he lashes out at Rosie O'Donnell or the cast of Hamilton. In fact he did so only in response to a question, and not on his own initiative. That sends a message. The hiring of Steve Bannon, an unrepentant alt-righter, for a senior White House position sends a message. Deplorable or not, these voters were a big (and highly motivated) part of Trump's coalition. Look at the spike in hate crimes, many in Trump's name, since the election. If he wants to reassure the nation that he wants to be president for all Americans, as he says, then he needs to take a stronger stance against these kinds of supporters. Why isn't he ranting on Twitter about them?

Donald Trump and his nascent administration are making a mistake if they assume some huge mandate here. The fact of the matter is that Trump received fewer votes than Romney lost with in 2012, and just about as many as John McCain lost with in 2008. In fact, you have to go back to 2000 to find a president elected with fewer popular votes (G.W. Bush, who also lost the popular vote). Hillary Clinton received 2 million more votes than Trump; counting Johnson and Stein some 53% of the American public voted against Trump and his agenda. That's a difficult position for any new president to be in, but it is made even more so by the bitter divisiveness of the election. If he can't win some of that 53% over he is not going to have a very successful administration.

You didn't really answer the question what they're scared of, since for him to do any real harm he needs the support of his party and in some cases the democrats too.

As for the hate crime stuff from FBI:

2013: 5,928 criminal incidents were reported involving 6,933 offenses.
2014: 5,479 criminal incidents and 6,418 offenses.
2015: 5,818 criminal incidents and 7,121 offences.

So for the last god knows how long its been, felt like a lifetime. Trump and his "racist" rhetoric during the running has not increased in fact it's lower than it was before he ran.

I will believe he is the white power demi god giving legitimacy to racists and thugs when hate crimes go through the roof and not just little changes.
