I've already played the game for about a month before, i quit because i didn't know anyone who played. So I'll give it another go.

 

Depending on the skill points you have you might wanna start a new character. Pull one of the people who have been playing the game for a while into a voice chat and they can walk ya' through it. It takes about 2 and a half months to get enough SP to do incursions and you need about 400mil for a properly fit incursion ship. That is the best way to make money with low SP in high sec, and you may want to start with that while you decide who you want to play with. I've found that having a consistent and well known way to making money is the best way to have fun in the game, because you don't have to worry about losing ships if you always have a way to replace them.

 

 

Edit: Also if you do a recruit a friend and sub you get that person a Plex or game time. Depending on who it is they may give you it or a lot of money, so starting from scratch is probably better than some random old 1 month old account.

Either way, wrong side of the galaxy, we're in highsec just outside Circle of Test.

It's not that far. Why, I even popped my head into Vale of the Silent like last week. A CVA guy I know found a nice Wormhole chain...

But, anyway, it's kinda fun living in Provi. Because we're NRDS, we kinda act as EVE's nullsec proving grounds, because pretty much every major entity goes there at some point or another to test stuff or just PvP. I've heard it said that if you can surviveand succeed in provi, you're pretty well set for anywhere else in Nullsec.

We poke our head into wormholes whenever a nice one spawns in or next to our sov systems. We used to have a nice little C2 hole, but that was before my time and we got evicted a while back. Now we're just a provibloc sov holder.

And "Care Factor" isn't nearly as nice as the name sounds.

You see, this is our logo:


If you look real closely, you'll see a needle in the nurse's hand. What you gotta ask yourself is, "What's in the needle?"

We might have quite a few carebears, but quite a few of them are quite able to wreck your face with a mining barge just fine.



Anyway. For a newer player, I found that the best thing to get yourself into the game is to get out there and join a Corp. Mine is recruiting!

By the way, meant to add, Red, if you're ever down by Amarr, we have a highsec base in Nuzair which is just 7 jumps or so from my nullsec home. Swing by sometime. Just hope you aren't kos to Provi.

One warning before you guys go in on this. Make sure you find a corp/location/activity you have fun with. Eve is big and if you aren't having fun go find it. Lingering in a dead corp or location will kill your interest and possible fun.

Well, ill be the one to warn you not to get too excited. There's a reason that they refuse to specify how long tomorrow's downtime will be. Lol.

Well it will start with a minor 4 hours, but then they will realize 3 hours 20 minutes in that it might be longer. At 3 hours 52 minutes they delay for another 4 hours because the issue shouldn't take longer than that. 4 hours 15 minutes after that they will announce that it will be ending in another 4 hours. They finish in 3 hours and happily declare that they finished earlier than expected! Then 6 hours later there will be at least 1 game breaking exploit that they rush to hotfix. But that's okay because NOTHING STOPS THE SKILL QUEUE

Got crushed by work this week, but I'm getting it setup tonight.

 

Anyway, I recovered my old old trial account I used (9.5 years ago!). And I have 2 characters in the login screen that I can select. And there's a line with numbers, then a line with the character's ISK, then a line for mails. Like this page here.

 

Am I correct in assuming that first line is skillpoints?

So, new Alphas start at 400K SP, but my 2 old characters are at 760K and 1.2M SP. Is it worthwhile to use of these as my character, or should I just start fresh with a new character?

 

idk either way, just asking. If it would only take a week or two to cover that I might as well go with a new guy.

A character that old can play mind games on people so use that I guess. The thing is with recruit a friend you can get more money if you do sub. Just make sure if you do it with a friend that they hook you up. All in all its up to what you want to do and what skills your old account has. The good news is you can do both and decide later.

I've been out since before the update cause I'm waiting for my Jump Drive Nav V skill to train... which takes forever and a day.
