While we're at it, lets stereotype all generations.  Why single out millennials?  :)

Nah, people just need to grow up. I seriously didn't act like that when I was young nor did any of my peers. This entitlement thing is not something that kids throughout history preached, this is new.

This is so absurd and I love it. Literally ever single generation in the history of humanity has thought that the next generation was terrible and worse off. This viewpoint is so dumb. There was a generation that believed Jazz and Rock was the Devil's music and that a woman showing her ankles was scandalous. There was a generation that opposed evolution. Thrash I'm sure your grandparents complained about your generation as well. Stop looking at a gigantic group of people and making assumptions based on one interaction one time you had with a member of that group.

Lol. No it's not, Thrash. Maybe you and your friends were different. Or maybe you just don't remember. But this is exactly what older generations said about our generation. And exactly what still older generations said about our parents. And so on, and so on. Hell, you can go back to the letters-to-the-editor pages of Victorian-era newspapers and find people bitching about the same thing. It's just human nature.

You can't blame college costs on Republicans, the only people who are making college cost so much are Democrats. Pay $200k tuition to fund pensions, so we can tell you how to think and make you go for a degree that has no relevance in the real world, that you end up spending tons for to just end up having to work in retail. College is irrelevant. We need manufacturing back. We need apprenticeships. Degrees in arts aren't worth shit. I agree with baby boomers taking a lot of entitlements, but there's a difference there, they actually WORKED and PAID into it.

No you don't. Simple manufacturing is dead. You need to go into specialist manufacturing, and service industries. Those need college degrees.

Best part is that the millennial generation goes back further than many people think. Some extreme cases the 70's.

Please give me an example of service industries? You mean serving up coffee at Starbucks? Because those are the only jobs being created and in demand and guess what.. they don't need a fucking $200k college degree and the only reason they're in demand is to cater to friggin hipster teens that shouldn't be even drinking coffee to begin with. $2 starbucks coffee =  50+ cups of coffee made in my brewer. Yea and no it's not Keurig, because that's a big fucking waste of money too. Learn to be frugal, not to be hip, not lazy and you'll find yourself in a much better position to pay your bills. Stop worrying about the "cool" points.

You can't blame college costs on Republicans,

Errrrrrrrrrrrrt, stop right there.

I said nothing of Republicans.

You want to bring up agism, here it is plain and simple.

As far as costs go, both sides are to blame really.

As far as relevance, you are spot on.

Here's the real kicker:

We are dicussing a generation that was TOLD that they HAD to go to college.

"Oh idk what I wanna do."

"You'll figure it out."

Spend 4 years figuring out what you want to major in because you got zero guidance, you were just told that you HAVE to have a degree.

ANY DEGREE.

You are 100% right about trade skills.

There are literally millions of jobs for engineers, electricians, etc that are just begging to be filled and no one to fill them.

So part of the problem is we need to quit pushing all of our kids into college regardless.

This is what happened with the millennials.

We were sold a false bill of goods.

Amen, brother. Colleges are capitalism in hyperdrive which makes me so dumbfounded why all the college kids are against capitalism. Vocational schools are the way, you know so you can actually learn a trade and not take useless subjects that serve no purpose towards getting a job. My parents are also guilty of forcing me into college with the thoughts of "too smart for a vo-tech", too smart in what? fucking Calculus? yea, that's serving me real well right now.

Ahem.

The service industries (More formally termed: 'tertiary sector of industry' by economists) involve the provision of services to businesses as well as final consumers. Such, therefore, include accounting, tradesmanship (like mechanic or plumber services), computer services, restaurants, tourism, etc.

Hence, a service Industry is one where no goods are produced whereas primary industries are those that extract minerals, oil etc. from the ground and secondary industries are those that manufacture products, including builders, but not remodeling contractors.

So yes, tradies count, I'll give those don't need college degrees (over here they do). Accountants, computer people, yes starbucks employees, tourism people, the entertainment industry, advertising, e-commerce, insurance, lawyers, health care, etc. The not making shit industry. The doing shit for other people industry.
