Devs are introducing what they are calling "Clone States" in November.

Long story short: They are removing the time limit on demo accounts thus making it f2p.

There goes all my free time...

Learz and I were talking about that last night. I know a few CN alliances have tried to make a presence in EVE Online but couldn't cause it cost money. Might be an idea for November

I find that game addictive.

I have only ever played the 2 week demo, and am looking forward to going a bit deeper with the new rules/

Remember the game requires a lot of knowledge or money to have fun. If you know the game it is easy to get money and will be able to do just about anything, even with the free to play limitations. I would personally suggest that if you plan on starting when it is free to play to first do a recruit a friend link from someone you know, and pay for a month. Get that person to give you some in game money since they get a bonus from you subscribing and make them teach you the game. When it goes free to play unsubscribe and be ahead of all the other people who will be free to play. I can help people get started and do some basic explanation of the game, but I am quite busy with my obligations in the game and real life so I cannot promise more than that.

Also I forgot to add. You can do the 21 day free trial and pick up on that account when it is free to play. So there is no downfall to starting early, also steam has regular sales that can give you the first month for super cheap.
