I also like to bleed my print & script together.

Things I like to write one way or the other, or depending if I'm writing out sentences, or a quick note, etc.

Yes. As I've aged it's getting closer and closer to be 2 capital letters with straight lines after them.

I can't print certain letters, like f, or l, or b. So I script as much as possible.

I can't make a capital Q or a lower case Z in script. I mean you could figure out what it was, but it looks really horrible.

The funniest thing is up until I started college, I always used script and then all my roommates there used to print all the time so I got into it to. It really is so much easier to print, really can't say about which is faster.. suppose everyone is different.

I had to add a category, "sometimes," because that was the only right answer for me.  I alternate between block printing and handwriting, depending on my mood and/or the type of pen available.  I am very pen-picky.  I don't like a pen that is too smooth, I prefer a little resistance.  Mechanical pencils and fine-tipped porous point pens are my favorite.  Certain ballpoints are okay too, usually the cheaper ones, oddly enough.  But gel pens are uniformly too smooth for me.

I prefer pens that are smooth and glide over the page, since I almost always write in script/cursive. I can print, but I find it too slow. :P

In uni exams, my cursive can look worse than stereotyped doctors' writing. :v

Just for signing my name, and that's more of just a scribble

Pretty much this. My printing is highly illegible, and when I try to write in cursive, it's even worse, but takes me thrice as long.

Yes. As I've aged it's getting closer and closer to be 2 capital letters with straight lines after them.

My signature used to be highly elaborate, incorporating my first name in cursive and my surname and middle initial in uppercase print. Then one day, it came to my attention that taking more than ten seconds to sign my name was ridiculous, and have since simplified it to one capital letter followed by two squiggly more-or-less straight lines for my legal name and two capital letters followed by the same for less formal uses where using my legal name's not necessary.

We should post images of our handwriting/signatures.  :)

This idea was brought up in IRC a while back, and Phate and I exchanged samples, because we were discussing the differences in how we write certain specific characters (a crossbar for 7 and Z, bars on the upper-case 'I', whether one slashes or dots the number '0', a bar and hook on '1', and whether there's a loop in '2' being the ones I remember). I'm a bit more hesitant to post a writing sample more publicly, but I might be able to be convinced otherwise as well. :P

I guess it's just that, however illegibly unflattering it may be, I tend to consider the way I write to be a lot more personal than the face I present on the internet. It's the same reason I don't generally post photos of myself.

Oh, I see.  It never occurred to me that someone might be embarrassed about their handwriting.  My bad.  I'll try to post some of mine tomorrow.  But here's an interesting exercise:  What do you think someone's handwriting looks like, based on their personality.  For example, I picture Nas' handwriting as rounded and bulbous, like a middle school girl's.  I bet he'd dot his "i"s with little hearts if he thought he could get away with it.  :P

Thrash I picture with a sort of jagged scrawl, small letters, widely spaced.

It's not specifically that I'd be embarrassed by it, though I'm sure someone of my mother's or grandmother's generation might think I ought to be (the look on the latter's face when I told her employers would likely not take a handwritten résumé seriously, after she repeatedly insisted that showing off neat handwriting in one was the most important first impression, was priceless). It's more a principle of privacy, combined with more than a little bit of paranoia around the issue Redezra brought up.

I picture both your printing and handwriting (heh, it just occurred to me that growing up, handwriting was seen as a synonym for cursive, to be opposed to printing, whereas now it can be used to include either block print or cursive, opposed to typing) to be impeccably neat, every letter a carbon copy of the other, all evenly-spaced from each other. I imagine your hand is capable of printing in Helvetica.

Redezra mentioned in both the pens thread and another thread recently where she mentioned how much she depends on computers (can't for the life of me remember where that topic started or what it was otherwise about) that her writing is quite messy, which startled me; I would have otherwise pictured Redezra's writing to be similar to how you described Nas', akin to French Script MT or Catholic School Girls BB.

I must say, at the risk of sounding like I'm being rude (which is not my intention — I feel like I say that a lot...), I find all the paranoia about being "identified" somewhat amusing.  The people you really need to be afraid of can find you in a heartbeat, so it all seems a bit silly to me.
