NO I JUST HATE SEAFOOD AND IT MAKES ME SICK SMELLING IT....I COULD LEGIT VOMIT AND HE HEATED UP SOME NASTY CONCOCTION IN THE MICROWAVE AT WORK WHICH IS ON THE END OF THE BUILDING AND WALKED THAT NASTY SHIT FROM THERE ALL THE WAY TO POLICE RADIO AND SAT HIS ASS DOWN AND ATE THAT SHIT. 

 

SO NOT ONLY DO I HAVE TO SMELL THAT SHIT WHILE I'M WORKING, BUT I HAVE TO SMELL THAT SHIT ON MY WAY DOWN TO THE KITCHEN TO COOK MY OWN (NON SEAFOOD) FOOD FOR THE NIGHT.

Well I have been looking for a new job for a while but haven;'t been able to find one. Honestly, I have been handling shrimp and cod with no issues. Just cannot ingest.

I assume you carry an EpiPen around? Cos shit could turn bad fast if a particle of whatever the allergen happens to be should enter your bloodstream. Unlikely, perhaps, but all it would take is a scratch. I don't mean to terrify you. But it's kinda terrifying to me that you do that for a living! It's like Superman working at the kryptonite mine. Only everyone knows who you are. And you can't fly.

My allergy isn't that bad. I work in an enclosed climate controlled room that gets dusty. Particles of fish flake and pellet are ever present and i have never had worse than a rash or aggravation of my asthma. An Epipen is unnecessary

It still sucks because I love shrimp and now I cannot eat it.

As for my work, i am more concerned about the dust particles themselves than the allergy. I used to handle and grind raw cod in a hand grinder fod ours at a time in my old department.
