So, were/are you lazy with battery covers? I'm not talking modern electronics, I'm talking old things with 9 Volts, AAs, etc.. I've been going through all of my storage looking for stuff for sell and I'm finding a lot of my old handheld games and they are like ALL missing the battery covers. Why the hell was I so lazy to take the 1 second to slide the cover back on after putting batteries in?

I'm kind of neurotic about battery covers, and have been so since I was a sprog. If the battery cover to a toy went missing then as far as I was concerned that toy was "broken" and no longer used. I never understood how my friends managed to lose them all the time.

The funniest part is I don't want to list any of the games cause I know if I keep looking I'll find at least a few of them, obviously nowhere near the game itself. They matter a lot on selling price.

I wonder if there's somewhere online where you can get replacement battery covers? I bet there is.
EDIT: Okay, kind of. Instructables on how to replace any battery cover . Heh.

I have children... young children. I do not have a remote control in my home with a battery cover on it. I don't think its that you were lazy with them, its more than likely that the tab broke, and they kept falling off.

You hit on something there. I think it might have been just a childhood thing. And not necessarily that the tab broke off. All my remotes and stuff since I've been an adult have all their battery covers. I'd imagine if they were still making handheld games today and I had a reason to buy one, the battery cover would be in it's place.

Yeah kids lose/break these things all the time. A lot of them have screws to hold them on now. I wonder if that's because of our generation remembering how easy they are to lose? Heh.

I'd be all fidgety and keep popping the covers on and off incessantly.

That's so weird to me. Maybe it's just that I was an anal-retentive kid, but I only ever touched the battery covers when the batteries needed to be changed.
