GOD FORBID.. HOW COULD YOU HAVE PRIDE IN SUCH A THING? YOU MUST BE A HATER.

I think it's just hilarious that by default anyone who is straight is a hater. And you wonder why I get pissed off all the time.

The flier has some vulgar words, but big deal... The flier speaks what I've always said.. I don't care what you do, just stop telling me about it, getting in my face about, etc...

POPULAR

The argument that always gets made is that 'straight pride'—just like 'white pride'—is inherently inflammatory because these movements arise in communities which are not subject to discrimination or persecution, as, say, gays or blacks have been.

This argument is what I like to call, 'Horse shit.'

Gay pride is also horse shit.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: the notion of so-called "gay culture" is wholly-fabricated and artificial, sharing none of the hallmarks of cultural development that arise from the natural evolution of distinct societies, and the gay pride movement does more harm to gays by further stigmatizing, shaming, and humiliating us than it will ever do to raise awareness for gay rights. Why? Because the majority of people are straight, and if you want the general populace to take you seriously as a community, utilizing symbolism to which most people cannot even begin to relate—or even worse, actively find offensive—is not the way to go about it. If you want to be taken seriously, marching half-naked down city streets is not the way to go about it. Acting like hooligans to shock and provoke is not the goddamned way to go about it.

As a lesbian, I'll be the first to admit "Pride" isn't about being proud, it's about giving a big cockring-twirling middle-finger to homophobes. The fact the concept of "straight pride" offends gays is proof-positive of this: gays view straight pride as just as big of a, 'Fuck you,' to them as gay pride is meant to be. And you know what enraging homophobes accomplishes? The same thing burning Qur'ans does to Islamists: it breeds more of them. It's fucking stupid, and it needs to stop.

If serious progress is to be made anywhere in the world towards equality and inclusiveness for gays, we as a group have to stop insulating ourselves as a community behind the quite-frankly tacky and distasteful shows we see at pride parades and the pornographic charades we see flaunted as the hallmarks of "gay culture". Have some goddamned class. I hate to say it, but look to the media: who are the gays who garner respect not only from the gay community, but from people of all orientations and walks of life? They're the Anderson Coopers, the Rick Mercers, the Ellen DeGenereses of the world. They're the people who own their sexuality, who are actually proud of it, but who don't define themselves by it and certainly don't use it to attention-whore.

There's been a recurring line in the marriage equality debate that qualifying gay marriage as such is stupid—it's not "gay marriage", it's just "marriage". Well, gay people are just people, and the sooner we realize that that's the argument we need to convince the rest of the world of, the better off we'll be.

or, 100 times, or something. YEAH!

Although, I'm not sure it's a good idea to be feeding into my lesbian fetish...

It's something I can never have... YET!

"There were swear words and took it a little further than the average free speech should go.” This is my problem with America, I believe there is no limit to free speech.

This is absolutely the crux of the matter. Perhaps people aren't so much offended by flagrant homosexuality as they are by flagrant sexuality in general. It's an idiotic thing to be proud of regardless, and no one (except perverts) wants a random strangers sexuality rubbed in their face. It's absurd that people can go about being intentionally offensive and then have the gall to be surprised when people are actually offended. Mission accomplished, asshole. Now people who may not have had any exposure to homosexuality before have a very powerful image of it forced upon them in a negative manner. Maybe they had no opinion of homosexuality before being shouted at and accused of homophobia for wanting to be allowed to mind their own business.

They're the Anderson Coopers, the Rick Mercers, the Ellen DeGenereses of the world.

I didn't even know Anderson Cooper was gay, and I only know Ellen Degeneres is because it's a thing people talk about. They talk like normal people because, unlike the glitter-throwing "gay pride" mob, they actually are normal people which their orientation has nothing to do with. If the people who go gallivanting up and down the streets half-naked or more covered in glitter were in any form of fiction, they would be lambasted as one-dimensional stereotypes... and yet here we are with people thinking this is an acceptable way to conduct oneself in society. I am glad this is becoming an issue that gets examined and discussed now though. I have confidence it can be sorted out and we can all eventually get back to living our lives blissfully unaware of what strangers do to other strangers in what should be a private setting.

This so much. This is the loss of morals in this country that the left-wing brings about. Seeing guys walk around with their pants hanging off their ass, girls with their tits hanging out of their shirts or their ass crack showing. This is not normal. This scares old people like me. It's not how I was brought up. Sex in general is way too rampant now.. movies.. tv.. etc.

I'm not bothered by it in movies, TV, etc. There are ratings for a reason. You know what you're getting in to when you choose to watch something rated for sexual content. You do not have that choice when you are confronted in public with people who can't exhibit a modicum of decency and consideration for others.

It's stupid to be "proud" of something over which you have no control, like nationality or sexuality. "Yay! I'm proud of the fact that I happened to be born here even though it had nothing to do with me!" Pride should be reserved for accomplishments.
