Election Day is November 6th. As of right now, the national polls are exceedingly close, with a slight edge to Obama. In state-by-state polls the president seems to have a somewhat larger advantage (Nate Silver at FiveThirtyEight currently has Obama with a 67.6% chance of winning), but it is still close. That first debate really hurt the president, and despite his win in the second debate the zeitgeist still feels like it has a Romney edge, at least to me. Looking at the data objectively an Obama victory still seems more likely, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried. As most of you know, I am hardly an Obama booster, but he is a damn site better than the alternative. I lived under Romney once -- I don't want to do so again.
That said, I will probably end up voting for either Jill Stein or Rocky Anderson, both of whose political views more closely align with mine. I'd like to see more parties in this country, and since my state (Massachusetts) is safe for Obama, there is no risk in voting against the grain. Some of you might want to do the same, and I have included links to the other candidates' pages below for anyone who might be interested in an alternative. But remember: No matter what, either Barack Obama or Mitt Romney is going to win this election. If you live in a swing state, your vote for a third party candidate could well end up benefiting the "mainstream" candidate you dislike the most. So consider carefully!
