Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning? I always took it for granted that everyone did so in the morning, but as an adult I met a lot of people who do it the night before. Those people sound like Satanists to me, but then Satan is just Santa spelled sideways.

We do Christmas eve with my dad's side and Christmas day with my mom's side and Christmas day eve at my better half's parents 

 

my better half always hides my gifts or I would have them opened as soon as she brought them into the house.

Both, through the night into the morning, usually. 

 

Already had Christmas here though, lots of timing issues xD

As a kid I could open one on Christmas Eve, but it couldn't be a big one. That's a fairly common tradition, I think. Now as an adult I generally open them when they are given to me, i.e. at a Christmas party, etc. Yesterday, for example, was the last day of school before Christmas vacation, and a lot of the kids and parents bring the teachers little gifts, usually cookies or other treats. I had a pretty good haul.

Have always done dinner/a little gift basket from the grandparents, where my sister will usually come in, and some other family will be there.

Then we usually go to my aunts house (didn't this year), and the prime family unit will open presents Christmas morning, and have family (grandparents, a cousin(s)) over for dinner.

I live at the intersection of two cultures, Alpine christmas traditions, and traditional western christmas. As such, I celebrate two Christmases. One on the evening, and one on the Day. Both involve an approximately equal number of presents.

 

 

This was awesome as a kid, but expensive as an adult.

Christmas Day is the family tradition, but if we wind up having a pre-Christmas (or post-Christmas, depending on timing and schedules) get together with close friends of the family we'll exchange and open those presents at that time.

I kinda know what you mean Red. My birthday is January 10th. My whole childhood I was used to birthday gifts being things bought in after-Christmas sales.
