Let's say you lived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You're still you — nothing about your life is different, except that you live in a world in which Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, et al are real, and their films depict actual historical events. Given all that, would you consider the Hulk to be a menace or a hero? Yes, he helped save New York City during Loki's invasion. But he has also caused a LOT of destruction, particularly in the Southwest. If you lived someplace where your house was in legitimate danger of being crushed by a rampaging green rage monster, you probably would not be a fan of said rage monster.

Would totally support the US military getting a tight leash on that thing. They already have one on basically every other major character.

Apart from Thor. I'd probably have misgivings about him too.

There's also Dr. Stephen Strange, another character that the traditional authorities could not hope to control. He's already been mentioned in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, as one of the targets slated for termination by HYDRA. We'll be meeting him in 2016. :grin:
