Yeah the high jump towards the end in that "immigration" flow chart, is due to Germany/EU recently and basically telling world to come and be welcomed with open arms. Only to end up going "fucking hell where have all these suddenly come from backtrack backtrack!".

Considering how people keep getting told they have to change how they live to avoid "misunderstandings" with the refugees, I'd say it's the latter.

We still have people from the Yugoslav Wars that don't speak any bit of the language or have a second house from where they came or still actively identify themselves not as Dutch but part of where they came from.

 

Now imagine we get a month what we got at the peak year of the Yugoslav Wars while still doing a shit job like back then. Oh and we had immigrants walk out of temporary camps because the place smelled like wood and they didn't have a personal fridge.

 

Meanwhile, refugees get priority on the housing market and municipalities assist in making that happen, sort of ignoring locals that have been 6 years on a waiting list.

... that's what some of the pundits are saying. Frankly, having just lived through the Canadian election, I've stopped listening to pundits because they're getting crappier by the month nowadays.

By the way, I have family in Germany. It's not as bad as the American media is making it out to be. In fact the government is eager for new workers, since the German population is shrinking. The United States is going to be in that boat in a decade or two as well.
