Quite the contrary, you have that trouble even with students who print (which is almost all of them) much more often than you probably expect, and it's compounded by the fact that the students whose handwriting is terrible often can't spell worth shit either.

At our school the kids still take spelling. I see them doing spelling quizzes all the time. But Massachusetts schools are widely considered to be the best in the nation, and my district is one of the best in the region, so probably my experience is not the same as that of people in other places.

A friend of mine just got hired as a lower level executive and Bank of America. He starts with four weeks vacation and ten sick days, so its not just GE.

Yes, but he started as an executive. For full time employees with 10 years experience or more that's still not average. Average is 3 weeks total pto (aka including sick days) plus 10 public holidays.

I would just like to point out again that most executives take a lot of time off that is off the books. Long lunches, golf trips, business "junkets," etc., etc. Every time they take someone out on their boat they probably write it off as a business trip. If they go out to dinner with anyone who could even be remotely considered to be connected to their business they take it as comp time, etc., etc. Like I said upthread, go into any company on a Friday afternoon and try to find someone from senior management. This is correct. This is pretty much what I've experienced in my 18 years of being in the workforce.

Ok, just to live up to my usual self, I'm going to totally derail this thread even more so now.

I was just thinking about fights that I've seen throughout my school years. Girls got in a lot more fights than guys did.

The only time I ever threw a punch first was when I guy insulted my sister in an inappropriate manner. However, I got hit a couple times. Usually I got sent to the office for supposedly disrespecting my teacher or arguing with another student or something. You know, the relational stuff I'm so good at. Most of the time I had no idea why I was in trouble.

Teachers here are personally under paid and over worked, i do feel there salaries could do with improvement, Summer vacations are quite good so i dont think there will be any more improvements there

When I was in high school I don't remember a whole ton of fights, to be honest. I think I was in one, and that was in junior high. I also remember one girlfight. However, I understand that physical fights between girls are way more common now than they used to be. Thanks, Title IX!

Actually, I didn't get in any fights in highschool, those were all elementary school. Unless you count Tai Kwan Do or Fencing.

I got in 3 fights throughout school. Witnessed at least 15-20, most of those in the 4 years of high school.
