Yeah, I don't know if I'd call it "fantastic." It was good, maybe even very good, but that's about as far as I'd go. See how you feel about it after a few months, when the excitement has worn off.

Eh, I would have to side with nascar in saying it was a pretty fantastic movie, but the books are even better. I finished reading the first book and onto the second now and I can barely put the books down.

The movie leaves out a fair bit of details (story is obviously the same) compared to the book, with a few slight differences... but I loved it.

I will probably be there when the store opens so I can buy the movie, lol. Hell I just bought the trilogy at the book store, lol.

Yeah you're way more enthusiastic about it than me. I'd call it a solid B+, maybe even an A-.

Mrs Rudekker and I have just started reading the book. We liked the movie, which we saw last weekend, but we both like the book better. The book is more explicitly anti-Panem (at least in the first chapter), and Gale seems less like set dressing.

I am about halfway through the 2nd book, and things are getting pretty crazy lol. I am like addicted to the hunger games now...

hmm I have only read the book (first one) and he seemed to be just there to complicate any feelings the protagonist could develop towards Peeta, I guess he must be even more minor in the film  I was disappointed that they didnt show Katniss and gale's reunion by the end of book one, but I guess saving something like that for the next book is a good way to make the reader buy it xD

See, this is exactly the kind of mushy nonsense that makes me not want to read the book.

Just finished reading the 2nd book... it just kept getting more and more intense, until the last 4 or 5 pages and it was getting pretty crazy, then the very last sentence was a major bomb.

It is a pretty good movie, but it is very girl-centric. All the male characters are flawed, most either incompetent or evil.

Luckily, my wife went with her sisters, so I didn't have to sit through it. After that idiotic baseball scene in Twilight, I'm done with chick-flicks.

Lol, the hunger games isn't a chick flick but jorost is right, most of the bigger characters featured in the movie are girls. The focus is obviously mainly on Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss.

Also, I have finished reading the books... the first one was great and built up to the secondly very nicely. The second book was simply amazing in my opinion, it was very intense for the second half of the book. However the third book took a shift that in my opinion is out of place... so I didn't like it as much as the other two. Overall the trilogy was a good read and I would recommend it.

I think this is why alot of people didnt like deathly hallows, out of the confort and routine of hogwarts, quidditch matches and christmas

Ok I actually found a review that sums up my feelings on why I didn't like "Mockingjay" as much as the other books... I couldn't quite pin point it but this article says it perfectly.

This is a major spoiler so... read at your own risk. This is a snippit from the article, I will post it as well in the spoiler.

Meh. Nothing I read there makes me want to explore the series any more than I already have, which is to say very little. I'll see the movies as they come out, I'm sure, but the books hold no attraction. I still have Game of Thrones sitting on deck.

Read it. Read the full A Song of Ice and Fire series. It is very close to being my favorite series I've read.

I will. I just haven't been in the mood for it the last few times I was ready for a new book. I'm reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo now. Maybe Game of Thrones will be next.

It was a good movie but it was slow moving at times. I know this was to build the plot but it was so slow.

That is also a great book. Undecided on whether I like the Swedish movie or the American movie better though.

Heh. DE, this is the second time today you've complained about a movie that I considered to be appropriately paced as "too slow." Have you considered the possibility that you have ADHD? :)
