Well we are all entitled to our own opinions. I say I like something and you immediately attack it. I'm not saying your wrong I'm just revealing another point of view. I'm not going to change my mind because you believe my opinion is wrong. I'm just stating why I like Matt Smith.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say, also, that I like Rory way better than Amy. And that the best companion is a tossup between Captain Jack Harkness and Wilfred Mott.

See, now here I'm going to disagree again. I find Rory to be a whiny, irritating loser. Amy's okay, but frankly she steals too much thunder. But it's hard to say, maybe under a different lead I'd like her better. I like Capt. Jack Harkness a lot.

I didn't say Rory was my favorite; I just said I liked her better than Amy. Were I to choose a favorite since-05 companion who's a girl, I'd choose between Rose and Martha.

Also, I'm pretty sure the thread's been hijacked, and we're never talking about the Hunger Games here again.

We've basically talked The Hunger Games out. There's nothing left to say, at least not until the next film comes out. But this is what we do here, hijack threads. I'm particularly notorious for it.

As to Doctor Who companions, I didn't like Rose. I found her just a little too precious. And I didn't like that the Doctor was in love with her in a romantic way. Of the modern series companions, I think maybe Donna. I like that she was kind of a schlump. Heh. Of all companions of all time I'd probably say Sarah Jane Smith, or maybe Jo Grant. I realize you might have no idea who that last one is. God I'm old.

... and I can say unequivocally that Matt Smith brings nothing new or special to the role. Being weird just for the sake of being weird is not acting. Any one of his predecessors is superior, but if it's eccentricity you want, watch some Tom Baker episodes. Matt Smith utterly ruins the character for me, and I cannot wait for him to be gone.

I like Amy far better than Rory.

I don't consider Captain Jack a companion, but rather a side character.

Favorite companion would be between Amy and Martha, leaning towards Martha.

Rose: Too dependent/helpless
Martha: Independent, interesting
Donna: For some reason just annoys the crap out of me
Amy: Independent, but maybe a bit too much so, interesting, hot
Rory: Meh
