Yet every time we've seen the Q they have become less and less impressive, finally descending into a joke on Voyager when one was trapped in a comet because he wanted to commit suicide.
Plus they were willing to take Riker. Again: Riker. That guy was a 6'4" turd with a beard.
Yeah they get joked on as the new series come about, but Strictly in TNG they are pretty awesome all the way to the end. Now id like to deposit a theory. In the first new Star Trek movies, (the one with Chris Pine as Captain Kirk) Eric Bana comes from the future to enact vengence upon Spock and Vulcan shifting the timeline to a point where everything we know that happens happens differently(the trend even continues into the second film) Now the question id like to propose is this: What if, given the time line has been altered, Q becomes interested in humans now and introduces himself to Kirk and company?
Edit: Additionally ive thought of another race that should have some contention. Though like the Q recieved little attention throughout the various series they are very interesting. The Travellers
