Do you say "Independence Day" when referring to the holiday? I don't. In fact the first thing I think of is the movie. I say "4th of July" when referring to the holiday. In formal writing I might use Independence Day, but never in conversation. Nor does anyone I know. I wonder, is this a regional thing?

I say Independence Day when referring to the American holiday. July 4th is just, you know, that day three days after Canada Day otherwise.
