This is a thread for guns, and gun related stuff. Try to keep political talk to a minimum, this is just about which guns we own, think are awesome, or want to own, and our reasons why!

Suitable Topics of discussion

-Favorite gun

-Guns you own

-Best gun in a zombie Apocalypse

-Reasons why said gun is best-gun

-What gun you would buy if you could an illegal one

First topics

-If you could get ahold of one fully automatic weapon, which would it be? (Me, it would be the Mk. 48)

I'm really not knowledgeable about guns at all. I'd just like to do more of it I suppose.

I'd like to get more familiarity with field stripping/upkeeping various firearms. I've only ever really used my shotgun, or my dads when I was younger. I've only gone hunting a dozen times.

I got some 1911's (0.380 and 0.45) and some bolt action rifles (22, one's a CZ, the other a Winchester 67A I just checked) I want to play with. There's plenty more firearms I could use (not mine), but I've never fired a handgun, and the bolt actions, I just like bolt actions (I also picked up a bit of 22 ammo).

That's cool man, a lot of people aren't super knowledgeable, that's what this thread is about! :D

Cleaning guns isn't so difficult, but it all depends on the gun itself. You can look at the manual, or google it, and videos can be particularly helpful. I recommend those little cloth things to clean off the grime, than getting a cleaner and a lubricant, so you clean it, and then rub lubricant on it. It's actually kind of fun.

Cleaner is to help get off the crime or carbon fouling (the black stuff), and then the lubricant is added afterwards so it'll reciprocate easier. It's easy to get them backwards, I always do. xP

(They look so similiar D: )

Those are some pretty cool guns.

I have an Ak, a Zastava, and I'm having fun modifying it. I've posted pictures before. Guess I could repost them, here xD

The Mk. 48. 18 pounds, fires the .308, typically has a 100 round belt. In my mind, the spiritual successor to the BAR, which was 18 pounds, but only had a 20 round magazine. Also has a recoil buffer, which reduces the recoil, and a higher rate of fire, since it can absorb heat, better.

100 rounds of .308 is like, 5.6 pounds, solid, and with the belt and nylon pouch it's something like 6+ pounds. So the gun would ordinarily be 24+ pounds loaded. But with a backpack, and can be much lighter than this, and you never have to reload, making it a beast. If you want to do CQB, you can just hold it at the hip and use a laser, assuming it's too long, or swap out the barrel for a shorter one, which machine guns do quite easily.

I think it's illegal to even think about guns in this country.

I have a standard issue G3A3 to go with a 90mm anti tank gun. Going shooting next weekend again: MG3, 90mm at gun, 84MM Car Gustav and Instalaza C-90. So the G3A3 seems like a slingshot. Used to have a USP 9mm issued by employer couple of years ago, but now I've changed field.

I'm not a big fan of guns. If anything I'd switch everything on the list for a Javelin.

At the age of 14 while in army cadets I used a similar model but it was restricted to single shot, but was still a lot of fun at the time on the 300 metre firing range.

At the age of 16 I "owned" and used the above model at the military during basic training and various other times after it.

We may not agree on the availability of guns in public, but we will probably agree on the fun factor of range shooting.

I prefer the M240, but only because it's more reliable; if you the Navy Seal variant of the M60, they're supposed to be a hell of a lot better.

Range shooting is like drugs in another sense as well. You want to get harder and harder drugs. After shooting machine guns and anti tank weaponry assault rifles seem puny and boring. And pistols seem like toys.

There's a video of my previous platoon shooting last year. Since I moved to other side of this large country I'm in a different unit now. But type and weaponry are mostly the same. Except that we have MG-3 instead of KSP-58 machine guns. And we have the C90 as well to shoot.

Or a knife, in Britain D:

Did you know it's illegal to have sharpened pencils out in the open? Yeah. :c

That'll stop them criminals who only need to hide a weapon on them for all of about an hour or two to go out and commit their crimes!

Why would you need to walk the streets with a knife, you want to chop some vegetables then use your kitchen.

I always feel happy knowing there's a large, reasonable chunk of the world where you can't have a favourite weapon let alone a favourite gun.

People just aren't responsible enough~
