Hey,

 

I'm not even entirely sure if and how badly rotty will slap me for this, but I'd like to set up one small competition. Your prize would be in "Likes" and giggles. 

 

Anyway what I have in mind is trolling based actually. Lets each of us find a OFF CN  site, register there or set up your user and go out fishing for most hilarious people. And in a week lets see if and how bad people we've managed to find. Pretty simple idea.

 

So the basic rules again:

• Pick a site
• It can't be in any way CN related (not going to start a war)
• Spend a week there (or less)
• Bring back logs or screen shots of how bad people you managed to find
• Let rest of us praise you or mock you for you accomplishments. 

 

Some fun online sites you might want to consider: dating sites, forums for teen age rebels (emos, commies), craigslist, facebook, radio@jorost.com, etc. The list of pages full of fucked up people is long.

 

So any takers?

I have no problem with this as long as no one is deliberately making trouble on other sites for our amusement.  We wouldn't want someone doing that to us.  But if you're talking about a Dinner For Schmucks-style competition, where we just go looking for whackjobs, that's fine.  I would suggest political sites of just about any extreme.  I'm going to go look for some über-Christian right-wing religio-fascist site.

Yeah it's going to be hard to top the Yahoo! news sites if you're really just looking for idiots. (The commenters. The news itself is OK but dear god Yahoo! commenters are something else.)

I was messing around at Tea Party Nation a little, but it's impossible to register there. Tea Partiers are so dumb they can't even run a forum. I tried making an account but the confirmation link in the email didn't work and they haven't been able to send me a new one yet. Then I tried registering with a fake facebook account. That failed as well due to some errors. 

 

And these people want to run a country? They can't even run a website.

I wanted to see if this was true so I popped over to Yahoo! News.  Within 30 seconds I found this comment on an article about gun control:

 

there's tons of insane proof sandy hook never happened. robbie parker, ready action. little girl was killed and showed up in photos later with obama. green screen flubs. adam lanzas missing 4 year history. gun control pushed day one. no cameras, new school security breached. no motive. proof of paid actors. no bodies. coroner knew nothing after exams. no mass of students running. one kid recalled it was a drill. 2nd shooter in front seat of cop car. fund websites created prior on timestamps. non emotional parents. the video proof is out there

Yeah I use My Yahoo! to read my RSS feeds. So I see a lot of Yahoo! news. Which, yeah, the news is perfectly good, the comments are a serious mindfuck.
