Who in Invicta likes the like button the most? See for yourself:

(I'm not the worst offender!)

I would like to say in my defense, that I often just click Like instead of making a post that just says "I agree with this post"

#177164 I haven't told anyone this before...

Posted by Shokkou on 16 January 2015 - 07:24 AM

As today loomed overhead this past week, I've been trying to figure out how I should best confront it.

Many years ago on this day something happened to me which has had a massive effect on every aspect of my life. It would not be an exaggeration at all to say that, had things gone differently, the Shokkou you all know would not exist today.

I was, for just a few months shy of a year, held hostage. For months I couldn't see and I could barely hear anything. I couldn't speak and I was kept alive by having nutrients forced into my body via a tube. I was so weak at first that even if I could have escaped, I would almost certainly have died before I could get anywhere. The only thing I could do was feebly kick my legs. Time had no meaning as weeks flew by. Then, one day, I finally was released. As I made my way out of that place where I'd been held for months on end, the doctor picked me up and showed me to my mother and father and gotcha bitch this is a birthday thread!

#182829 Fliers Going Around on a College Campus About Sexuality Stir Up Debate About...

Posted by *Anastasia on 27 April 2015 - 12:55 PM

The argument that always gets made is that 'straight pride'—just like 'white pride'—is inherently inflammatory because these movements arise in communities which are not subject to discrimination or persecution, as, say, gays or blacks have been.

This argument is what I like to call, 'Horse shit.'

Gay pride is also horse shit.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: the notion of so-called "gay culture" is wholly-fabricated and artificial, sharing none of the hallmarks of cultural development that arise from the natural evolution of distinct societies, and the gay pride movement does more harm to gays by further stigmatizing, shaming, and humiliating us than it will ever do to raise awareness for gay rights. Why? Because the majority of people are straight, and if you want the general populace to take you seriously as a community, utilizing symbolism to which most people cannot even begin to relate—or even worse, actively find offensive—is not the way to go about it. If you want to be taken seriously, marching half-naked down city streets is not the way to go about it. Acting like hooligans to shock and provoke is not the goddamned way to go about it.

As a lesbian, I'll be the first to admit "Pride" isn't about being proud, it's about giving a big cockring-twirling middle-finger to homophobes. The fact the concept of "straight pride" offends gays is proof-positive of this: gays view straight pride as just as big of a, 'Fuck you,' to them as gay pride is meant to be. And you know what enraging homophobes accomplishes? The same thing burning Qur'ans does to Islamists: it breeds more of them. It's fucking stupid, and it needs to stop.

If serious progress is to be made anywhere in the world towards equality and inclusiveness for gays, we as a group have to stop insulating ourselves as a community behind the quite-frankly tacky and distasteful shows we see at pride parades and the pornographic charades we see flaunted as the hallmarks of "gay culture". Have some goddamned class. I hate to say it, but look to the media: who are the gays who garner respect not only from the gay community, but from people of all orientations and walks of life? They're the Anderson Coopers, the Rick Mercers, the Ellen DeGenereses of the world. They're the people who own their sexuality, who are actually proud of it, but who don't define themselves by it and certainly don't use it to attention-whore.

There's been a recurring line in the marriage equality debate that qualifying gay marriage as such is stupid—it's not "gay marriage", it's just "marriage". Well, gay people are just people, and the sooner we realize that that's the argument we need to convince the rest of the world of, the better off we'll be.

The first step is admitting you have a problem.

I just don't know what the second is.

As a few of you know, I was in the capital area for my 30th birfday.

Aside from seeing Rufus Wainwright @ The Ram's Head in Maryland, I spent a whole day sight-seeing in DC with the one and only Infopowerbroker.

Much good times, food, beer, and evil death stares from waitresses were had.

Some highlights:

#146291 Invicta Roundel in RL

Posted by ᗅᗺᗷᗅ on 09 March 2014 - 04:25 PM

I went to Staples and had a 2-foot diameter print of the Invicta Roundel made.  I'm going to spray mount it onto a piece of presentation board and then use it as the Great Seal of Invicta when I make video addresses.  Pic below, banana for scale.

I also picked up a gorilla costume today.  So there's that.

This ring belonged to my mom when my dad first proposed to her. They later had their vows renewed and got another set. After my mom passed away, he gave the second set to my sister. He gave the first set to me. I wasn't expecting to do it last night cause my sister was gonna go and get it resized and cleaned up and stuff. But we got there last night and I compared it to one of my girlfriend's other rings and realized its a perfect size. So I went ahead and did it last night.
