Just admit metrics is superior.
I'll admit it's boring.
Yes.
Have I tried to sell you guys on my idea to change the foot/gallon to fit metric?
1 Gallon should be 4 liters, and 1 inch be 2.5 cm exactly. It's off by ~6 and 3% respectively. But idk. We should do it! To hell with over-complicating things.
And this is what makes it boring.
That said, your idea for a Metric Inch isn't new: the Soviets used it in computer manufacturing, and the idea of a 'Metric Foot' of 30cm is likewise commonly used here to produce dual 12"/30cm rulers.
What's boring?
It may not be new, but my idea is the best. 2.5 per inch is easier to think about, and is more round. Everyone loves curves. 2.5 cms per inch, or lordy 40 inches per meter. So simple. a 4/10 ratio. Just like our forefathers envisioned. The Imperial system was made to work with FRACTIONS. Damnit people.
FRACTIONS. They are the gifts we were given by god. Y'all need jesus. I swear.
(oh, and I didn't know about the Soviets implementation. Thanks for the link )

Hold your horses, it would help if the US actually used the imperial gallon as the US gallon is just over 3¾ litres whereas the imperial gallon is just over 4½ litres.
This man uses fractions.
And huh. Why would you do that. Let's just split the difference and make a gallon a round 4 liters. Agree?
