I was just going to say everything good and bad about
The Avengers and how much I enjoyed it overall... then I wondered why no-one'd been talking about it, and it seems you American's you don't get it 'til May?
Cabin in the Woods hasn't come out here yet, so when I opened the spoilers my eyes kind of glazed over as a self-defence mechanism :|
That said, I'm going to withhold a spoiler-heavy post 'n assessment of the movie because I know people will make it my fault if they can't ignore spoiler tags :| You should all go and see it, though - the more I think about it (and while it wasn't perfect) the more I'm sure it's as good as any
Avengers movie could be in the context of the recent Marvel efforts. In fact, the ensemble cast and the character interaction means it's so much more satisfying than any of the existing movies... and some of the superheroes who suffer in trying to carry a movie on their own work much better with slightly limited screen time. They pack a bigger punch
A handful of things I didn't like... but they didn't really detract from the overall quality - still exceeded my expectations. I want to talk about how good one character was and how two others could have been better used, but that wasn't the popular view in the group of people I went to see it with... so I'll leave you to wonder who I'm talking about? :v
