I'd give you a spoiler alert, but the title already gave it away. Apparently on Sunday night's episode of Family Guy Brian was hit by a car and killed. The Griffins got a new dog, Vinny, a fast-talking "street tough" type as described.

WTF?!?

I haven't seen the episode yet, but this strikes me as a huge mistake, like when South Park killed Kenny "for real." Judging from the fan reaction, the move has not been well received. The Twitter hashtag is #BringBackBrian for anyone who is interested.

Heh.  Fair enough.

 

This was still a bad move on FG's part, though.  I don't even know if I'll bother to watch the show any more.  Brian was the character I most identified with.

This might have been a publicity stunt.  Brian may not be as dead as we were led to believe.  A site affiliated with FOX and Seth MacFarlane called www.briansannouncement.com has a countdown clock to a "big announcement" from Brian at noon on December 6.

I think they're trying to kill the show or make it more popular again. Nobody really watches it anymore and the voice actors are going to move around eventually.
