So, as I write this, The Donald is within 20-some electoral votes of the Presidency.

 

So to get straight to it, I know the fashionable thing is to say "well if so-and-so wins I'm moving to Canada/Europe/etc."

 

Well fuck that.

My grandparents fought the Nazis for this country.

Their grandparents left Europe for the promise of a better life for their children here.

Also I'm the guy who is happy Trump is winning, but wanted Bernie. I'm a "fuck everyone" kind of guy. At least until myself/family I talk to daily are affected. Then I guess idk. But them bitching about this or that, until they die or are on the streets, I'll secretly root for the world to be on fire.

I really want the republicans to tear themselves apart/libertarians to help siphon off votes from them. But now, I just don't know what'll happen. All of that is pie in the sky anyway. But hey.

They can afford to. Most of us can't. I'd like to say I would love to leave, but that would be a lie. This is still my home, and at least I live in a state that repudiated Trump, for what little that is worth. My family is here, and my friends, what little of both I have left. Where would I go? What would I do? 

 

The badguys won. But life goes on. Presidencies don't last forever. But it's going to be shitty for a while for people like me.

Not my fault that you're a sucker for words and not deeds. I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised. You'll be more well-off, as well as all the people who deserve it. Trump cares about everyone. Clinton cared about herself. I predict GDP 4%+ by the end of his realm.

Trump cares about everyone... except gays, blacks, Muslims, etc. I don't think I'm going to be pleasantly surprised. And words like "deserve" terrify me. I highly, highly doubt that the people Trump has fired up would find me "deserving" of anything but contempt and marginalization. For the first time in my life, I am genuinely afraid because of who we have elected president. Afraid for myself and afraid for my friends and loved ones.

 

But whatever. Your side won, and you deserve congratulations. Trump was right and everyone else was wrong. As for me, I plan on sinking deeper into depression and substance abuse. I'll see you all on the other side.

You work? Why would you think you don't deserve to be rewarded for it? Even if you couldn't find a job, the chances are finding one are going to be so much better now as many jobs will be returning. 

 

How does Trump hate those people? If you look at his payrolls, I can guarantee you there's plenty of gays, muslims and blacks on it. Stop buying into the victim card for christ sake. 

 

This is not about my "side" won. This about someone who is going to break the system. The system that cares not for us common folks. The system that makes promises they can't deliver on to buy our votes. I know Obama didn't deliver the change and delivered more of the same, but this is truly different. This is a non-Politician being elected to be POTUS.

Thrash you gotta think of that bit in the Matrix where Morpheus says some people can't disconnect from the system. The "system" that so many people are angry with is all Jorost knows, it's how the country works. Heck it's all I know and I'd be pretty fucking scared if it got as snafu'd as the US's is right now. And then there's the consequences to consider, what new system comes of this? Who wins, who loses? There is a massive yawning void of uncertainty into which Jorost's world has been tossed, he's not enjoying that ride at all.

 

This is a massive defeat for progressives around the world, and regardless of your politics, having your entire world smashed around you will fuck you up.

 

Jorost needs a few days to process, and maybe a few weeks to months to mourn the loss.

If hillary had won, all of the supporters wouldn't be racist, corrupt, people who support destroying the DNC and all the other crap she's down. 

 

But if trump wins, all the supporters are racist, evil, eat babies and support all the terrible things that he supposedly does.

 

 

Because you actually believe in your own double standard. 

 

And there in lies the problem.

 

You're not interested in solutions, reality or how things really work but your own made up fantasy world. And that there is the problem. Learn from this, or continue to shelter yourself in your echo chambers and your own detached mind. And I say this with love. First, things are not over; second, get over your own projections.
