I admit. I really liked the Xbox. The original was nice, there was some shitty greedy moments like making you buy a DVD remote to watch video's and the whole Xbox Live in general. Well it WAS better than anything the others had AT THE TIME, but it was ok. Xbox 360 was pretty cool too. Xbox 1? Looks awesome... BUT only if they fucking remove the required internet connection thing and the no used games. For fucks sake. I doubt I'll get it. I'd rather stay with my PC or if I get one go to the PS4.

Also the next poll needs to be how often you buy used games.

I mean, I hate them putting DRMs, and crushing the market place, but really how large of a deal is it? I understand picking up stuff late, getting stuff you wouldn't buy for full price, or maybe just padding your collection (Frogger 2? With blood, Xbox exclusive? 10$ is a steal), but idk.

Again I don't really game. I mean I've bought used games for the older consoles, and wouldn't mind buying more just to have collections/have a catalogue of good games.

But even more importantly, I just hate physical media. I'm not too old yet (mentally, socially, whatever), but I just want to get rid of all of my physical anything. Burn my books, dvds, everything, and just have a nice PC/server to store my shit on.

Steam isn't perfect, but if they came out with their own 'console' (which I'm sure will be stupid, businesses never do things smart) I wouldn't mind buying it, simply so I know it plays x games without having to mess with my computer (I hate messing with my computer).

Also I'm ranting. PCs suck, but Consoles suck worse. Anyone up for Tetris on my SNES? Or Mario Kart on the N64?

I never understood used games. I like keeping my games cause some 20 months after I stopped playing I'll be all "Hey where's that game where blah-bla-blah" and play it. Also I don't get cool stuff on a preowned edition, and it might be scratched :<

 

So anyway, PC Gamers have been without preowneds since the beginning, and we never complained. So my advice to butthurt gamers is to stop being so god damn cheap.

 

Bloody 8th gen consoles are so close to PC's I'm surprised they don't run Steam anyway.

We ended up with a Wii last time, it was no ones first choice but was the best compromise.

PC Gamers are so lame. I mean they are an exclusive club of lame nerds. Here's the thing, your common man, if he's playing games, it's probably not on his computer. Want to play online with your RL friends? Probably need to have a console. I'm not real interested in many games outside of sports games, and very few of them even have pc releases, so there is that.

I haven't read up much on the new stuff about the PS4, but I'll say this, if Playstation would improve the quality and reliability of their online services, they'd be blowing Xbox out of the water. But shit, at free, what exactly do you expect? Paying 10$ a month for xbox live is just shitty, shitty shitty.

Anyway, screw you guys, I think I'll be sticking with my trusty old Super Nintendo, the greatest console ever known to man.

I used to have an old NES I used to play Mario on...As well as Sega Consoles. Those I liked, because computers back then sucked ass. Nowadays, computers are fucking beasts.

I wouldn't say Nintendo is shit. The N64 was like the best console ever. I loved that thing. The gamecube was pretty cool too. They are really just in a slightly different market. Nintendo has definitely been aimed towards casual gamers and kids for the most part. I like my xbox but ill never forget the fun I had on my N64. And used games on pc's are still possible, just harder. Now steam games its not but hard copies it is. But with steam you can redownload the game whenever. With xbox if you lose or mess up the cd ypu have to go buy a new one.

Ah, yeah I looked it up.

But xbox live is ridiculous. Forcing users to have xbox live gold to use their xbox to play netflix? How does that make sense? Pay $10 for both netflix and xbox a month? There is no reason why they need to route your connection through the xbox live service to Netflix.

I bought my first console (a PS2) because I wanted to be able to play used games. (Yeah, selling used computer software is illegal. It's so dumb.) I have a 360 now, it's my second console. I'm pretty happy with it. I'll probably still be playing it in a few years time.

 

I am not an early adopter.

 

However I will never buy any console that has a restriction on used games. Forget it. That defeats the whole purpose of owning a console for me.

 

I watch Netflix on my blu-ray player anyway. I have occasionally thought of paying for gold to play ME3 online, but I haven't done it.

I choose xbox because everyone I know plays xbox and I mainly play xbox to play with them which is pretty rare nowadays but when I was 15 that's all I did. I'll probably get the xbox one after it has been out for a year
