Except of course Nuclear Winter, the fact that Islam isn't contained to just the Middle East and the fact that the only Islamic country with a Nuclear program, Pakistan, would rather unload their arsenal at India.... then yes problem solved.

Unfortunately a large-scale nuclear exchange, even if it were confined to the Middle East, would still have a catastrophic effect around the world.  For one thing, all that radioactive dust is going to blow somewhere, and iirc the prevailing winds take it toward Pakistand and India, also nuclear powers.  Also we might damage the precious, precious oil.

Iraqi Kurdistan has been a de facto independent country for years.  The only reason it wasn't formalized was because no one wanted to piss off the Turks.  But now the Turks are starting to realize that they're better off with a stable Kurdistan on their border than an unstable Iraq.
