And yet, things happen without you.

Redezra's point proven, QED.

Nothing happens without me. I am everywhere.

Yes. It would.

Thinking is an action, in order for an action to take place you need an actor.

No you don't. Action is an illusion due to motion along the dimension of time.

Action does not require motion. Thinking doesn't require time.

Both of those are demonstrably false. Thinking is an action powered by the motion of ions through your neurons. And everyone needs time to think.

I agree with Haf that nihilism is technically not the belief that nothing exists, but that nothing has value. But solipsism is not the belief that nothing exists, but that nothing outside me exists.

As I see it, solipsism is all about subjectivity, so if I were a solipsist, the question if I exist or not (from an objective perspective) would probably not even make sense.

As for nihilism, from my perspective, for something to exist it must have value. Therefore, if I were a nihilist, then saying that nothing has value would simply imply that nothing exists.

However, I'm not a nihilist, and I'm not a solipsist either. I believe in value, as well as in an objective (mathematical) universe. And I think there's enough evidence that we are endowed to handle both. Shall we fail or not - that's another story. It's the game we're playing. As someone said, the meaning of life is finding a door in a wall that has none.

Take this quiz to find out what philosophical school suits you. I got hedonism, which sounds about right.

"A very complicated School of Thought, Existentialism is most easily recognized by its emphasis on the individuals free agency in the world. Basically you make your life what it is based on your choices.
"Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you"
- Jean-Paul Sartre"

I wish they wouldn't have quoted Sartre... I hate that guy.  :P

Ha-ha! Not that I trust this quiz a lot, but why didn't you open a new thread with this, Jor?

heh they called me a skeptic, and I'm an existentialist. Sartre is one of my heroes. Also notably he's the only existentialist to ever try to define the term existentialism, so you kinda have to quote him if you're going to give it a definition.

Still, not far wrong. Skepticism and existentialism have an awful lot in common.

You need to read more quantum physics, Red. Time is created by action.

No, time is a physical dimension directly bound to the usual three of space. All time warp as a result of gravity confirms this. And it does work, or GPS would not.

Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.
