Plenty of people agreed with him. That's how he got Social Security passed. His own peers considered him a "class traitor." But over the next fifty years the rich did a much better job spinning their PR, and so here we are.

[Expository]

My state (Oregon) - our minimum wage is tied to inflation. The unfortunate part of this is that rents in some areas are out of control.

 

Maybe a raise in minimum wage is not the answer, but expanded low-income housing and the right to have a roof over your head.

 

The caveat here is that we create ghettos of low-income housing and/or make the divide worse. - But, housing is what eats up alot of people's income (including my own, and I make a decent living wage) and that should be the first approach to fighting for a living wage - not necessarily just unequivocally paying people more money.

If people are working full time and still require public assistance to survive then something is wrong with the system.

 

Speaking or Oregon, I read something the other day about Oregon being one of the worst states for young people because of the lack of affordable rental housing. That surprised me.

I'm a fan of FDR. It didn't work, but I like that when the Supreme Court got in his way, his first thought was, "Imma pack that motherfucker with my bros."
