Went to Trumps FB page to express the disgust that Romney is even being talked to, made it clear that Romney was the only reason I voted Democrat in my life. 

 

I'm starting to worry.

I would be surprised if Romney wanted to be secretary of state. He was really only interested in being president. That's the only reason he ran for governor of Massachusetts.

Bad news, Thrash. Looks like we were wrong. CNN is reporting that "sources" say Romney is seriously considering the Secretary of State job. That surprises me. I would think he would only be interested in being secretary of state as a springboard to run for president again (you know, kind of like the woman Trump just defeated?). But Mitt Romney is 69 years old. Unless Trump decided not to run in '20, Romney wouldn't have a chance until '24, by which point he will be 77. Seems pretty unlikely.

 

Oh well. At least Romney knows how to behave like a dignified statesman. Weird choice though. It's not like Romney has any particular foreign policy experience. Also Romney is very anti-Putin. Interesting

He's draining the swamp to build a gold-plated cesspool.

 

The Romney 180° really surprises me. I guess it shouldn't, after all I lived under Mitt Romney as governor, so I know how nakedly transparent his ambition is. But that was always in pursuit of being president. I never would have expected Romney to be interested in a cabinet post, and especially not under a man he clearly loathes.

 

I never thought my opinion of Mitt Romney could sink any lower. But here we are.
