I didn't say I've never had barbecue. I've never had a
McRib. I've had barbecue, I just don't particularly care for it. I don't hate it the way I hate, say, salmon. It just doesn't do anything for me.
Atlas, I have never heard of any of those restaurants (I assume that's what they are) that you listed. We don't have them here.
The best barbecue place in Boston is widely considered to
Redbones. I have been there a couple of times, but it is hard for me to judge since barbecue leaves me "meh."
Bottom line: I come from the tribe of preppy New Englanders. Our people do not eat barbecue.
And Glen, there are some very good hot dogs out there. A good all-beef frank, ideally from a deli, is delicious. I'm not saying a McDonald's hot dog would be high quality, just that I'm surprised they don't have them. Kids especially tend to like cheap hot dogs anyway.
