Some of you may remember that a few weeks ago there was a chipmunk in my office. In the act of catching him I accidentally chopped off most of his tail. I was concerned that infection would set in, or that the open wound would make him a target of predators, and that he wouldn't make it. But he must be a tough little bugger, because a couple of minutes ago I saw a chipmunk with a stump tail outside the back door of the building!
