Nostradamus predicted the end of the world?! That's what some are saying. [1] Including, Baba Vanga, considered by many to be the Nostradamus of our time.

According to Nostradmus: The "false trumpet concealing madness will cause Byzantium to change its laws. From Egypt there will go forth a man who wants the edict withdrawn, changing money and standards.” Byzantine had already fallen by Nostradamus's time, so his reference was just to a really large powerful country and another less powerful entity coming to power, which he would have called Byzantine since he had really nothing to compare it to.

Also this one "The great shameless, audacious bawler, He will be elected governor of the army: The boldness of his contention, the bridge broken, the city faint from fear.” According to him after this the great nation of Byzantine will fall, and new people will take over.

Even more eery, according to Baba Vanga "Among the predictions that made her famous, the woman's idea that the 44th U.S. president will be African-American was by far the most popular. However, she also stated that the man who we know to have been Obama will be the last president of the U.S." Basically she said the U.S. would fall after the next president was elected.

Could this be the end of the U.S.?! The very vague interpretations could mean a lot of things, from the U.S. being cut short of another president being elected, from WWIII, to assassination to who knows what. But you decide, Invicta!

Guy high as a kite referencing past events vaguely enough that they become so general that you can apply it to anything. Insert people vaguely interpreting it and switch shit around til it means what they want.

Yes because your fucking editing it to say what you want. He was dead wrong until then, not even close.

Don't try to introduce your "logic" and "facts".

This isn't what this is about. It's about self perpetuating fear to find meaning in arbitrary words from thousands of years ago. Duh.

Nostradamus predicted a lot of shit, most of it incredibly vague. No one has ever successfully used Nostradamus to accurately predict future events, they only ever identify them after the fact. "Oh, THAT must have been what he was talking about!"

There's also a lot of fake Nostradamus memes out there, like the one after 9/11 that said he predicted the twin towers falling. He did not.

But if it makes you feel any better, look at it this way: A lot of people have predicted the end of the world. So far 100% of them have been wrong.

I liked the May 2012 one. NPR interviewed people who had quit their jobs and sold their belongings to follow some apocalyptic prophet to Florida and await the end of days. When it didn't happen he rejiggered the math and came up with another date, but I never found out how many followers stuck with him. Especially after that date, too, came and went.
