I think it'd be interesting for people here to read this article. It's a very fact heavy analysis on the election, Trump, and the aftereffects of the election. Specifically, Sections II and III deal with Trump's racism and the KKK.

lol I'm with you there. I just get annoyed when everyone picks some tiny, irrelevant thing to attack when there's way more important things to be looking at, like his plans for healthcare or government surveillance.

Trump made gains among blacks. He made gains among Latinos. He made gains among Asians. The only major racial group where he didn’t get a gain of greater than 5% was white people. Not much they could of done really as in the important swing States which went to Trump, She was getting more votes than what Obama did in key areas.

Trump was getting a phenomenal increase in turnout, through his charm, charisma, voodoo or whatever was getting people to get up and vote.

Clinton was.......doing.....something to make her voters stay at home and go sod it.

Romney got absolutely clobbered though; using him as a baseline comparison is being a bit disingenous. It's better to compare Trump's numbers to Bush's, and there you'll see that Bush did significantly better among Latinos than Trump did.

 

And better among black females I should think. (Trump won 4% of that vote.)

Romney's losing is the whole point. He lost and he still got more votes than Trump.

 

This is going to be a very unusual presidency for a lot of reasons. One of them is that it is effectively a "minority government," in the sense that Trump does not have a popular mandate. In some ways it is a government of one — Trump was elected as a Republican, sure, but he's not really one of them. He's got a lot of crazy ideas, like rebuilding the nation's infrastructure, that the GOP typically doesn't like. Big government stuff. And why wouldn't Trump like big government? He IS the government, after all, and he likes things big. He could end up clashing with his own party. He already is — which brings us back to Romney.

 

Curse Trump for making Mitt Romney relevant again.
