I don't know how I feel about this.

On one hand, Affleck has been funny/is supposed to be funny & popular. On the other Batman & Superman?

On the third and most important hand, I loved The Dark Knight (because who didn't?), and haven't seen Superman/don't like him, so I'm not really gonna care. When they finally make a superhero movie right again let me know.

(what are peoples opinions on daredevil? I've never watched it all/doesn't seem bad, but I'm not really excited about it, or remember anything good from it)

It's such an interesting idea though. I'll trust your judgment though. What are some super hero movies you do like though?

While it was certainly comedic, vs. what I believe was a more serious edition before, I liked the recent Green Hornet.

Iron Man 1,2 & 3 were good, Avengers was great, the other Marvel movies are pretty good too. The Amazing Spider-man (the new one) was good :D

The only Ben Affleck film I've ever seen was the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. Apparently he had an uncredited role in it as Basketball Player #10.

 

So I guess I don't understand why people love/hate him at all. B-)

 

But he can't be worse than Clooney. Oh god.

Yeah, I really don't see the big deal.  The guy looks the part and he's a terrific actor.  Everyone keeps bringing up Daredevil like it was some godawful disaster — it wasn't.  In fact it was about as good as a Daredevil movie is going to get, considering the inherent limitations and silliness of the character.  Anyway that was a long time ago, and a different director, and A LONG FUCKING TIME AGO.  I mean, seriously, if we're going to start ruling people out based on bad movies in their past, then Christian Bale never would have made the cut after Reign of Fire.  I think Ben Affleck will make an excellent Batman.

He's supposed to be an older "battle scarred" Batman.
Ben Affleck is a good fit for Bruce Wayne, sure, but The Batman?

Seriously, I don't think he's exactly, Batman. I mean there have been terrible batmans. But I don't even know if he'd make a good Adam West batman.

To be fair. A lot of people didn't like heath ledger for joker and he turned out pretty good.

Agreed. I like Affleck but he tends to take shitty roles sometimes. That isn't to say he is an awful actor, just makes bad decisions sometimes on bad movies. Nothing about this seems like a bad script.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has raised the bar for everyone.  These movies are made by people who take the source material seriously, having grown up with it.  Affleck is among those people.  And he's a great actor.  Go watch The Town or Argo.  It'll be fine.

 

It probably also helps that I never really liked DC Comics, and so have very little emotional investment in characters like Batman and Superman.
