The jelly/jam/preserves conversation prompted this obvious follow-up. Do you prefer smooth or crunchy peanut butter? We may have done this one before but if so I forget the results. For myself, I hate crunchy peanut butter. Not just hate, loathe. Like, hatred with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns. As far as I am concerned crunchy peanut butter is an abomination.

I like crunchy, but no one I live with does. So I get stuck with the dull, sensationless, and all too common smooth peanut butter.

I'm not the world's biggest fan of peanut butter, but when I do use it, smooth. Crunchy peanut butter has the same problem for me as pulpy orange juice: it's not bad, per se, it just adds an unnecessary weirdness to an otherwise fine product.

People that need peanut butter for their dogs don't know the true love Osiris and I share.

Store brands aside, Kraft has a virtual monopoly on peanut butter here. The only other brand I'm really aware of is Jif (sp?), and that's only because I've heard it brought up in arguments about animated images.
